There's more than market forces going on here. Canadian consumers have seen this sort of thing before. Here's a good example. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro is assembled in Oshawa, Ontario. The main parts supplier for Chevy in Canada is Magna International, which is based in Aurora, Ontario. So virtually the entire car is made here. USD MSRP: $23,555 CAD MSRP: $28,495 I could buy one in Detroit for less than I could buy one in Windsor. The handy dandy picture above shows how far I'd have to go to save 5K off the sticker. Even with duty and exchange, I still save over the after tax cost of it in Canada.

It went down like 5 cents, It's still .9 CAD to 1 USD. That hardly justifies a $50 increase.
