Does your educational system inform the mass about the numerous worlds that our forces managed to glass? Did ONI manage to cover up those events in particular by brainwashing each and every individual on this planet?

Regardless, your 'brothers' insist on 'finishing the job'. If they knew a ship more powerful than they could imagine was ready to deploy at every second, that the now thousands of 'demons' were training for the chance to avenge their people's deaths, if they knew that their own bodies would turn against them with the wave of one senior ONI officer's hand, they might put down their arms and give up their delusions of the 'Great Journey'. That ship has sailed.
