I think that's a great idea. Just having random hazards and monsters erupting around you in the middle of a BTB battle with mechs. Pacific Rim with machine guns.
I just hope some of these creatures are so powerful that both teams have to stop trying to kill each other and deal with a common enemy trying to eat them all.
