Games lately seem to be really avoiding split screen most likely to make more game sales do you also feel this way with games? I don't even have any reason to get another controller for my X1 cause the only game I think that has local play is killer instinct.
Personally I don't use split screen but It forces me to try to convince my friends to play the co-op heavy games like borderlands 2 which none of them bought and it got too boring by myself and I never touched it again and I fear this will happen with Destiny too if my friends choose not to buy it especially how im going to be playing it on the X1 so I may also have to convince them to buy a 500 dollar console too.

They are because they want u to buy their game twice so they get more of ur money. Also so u have to get xbox live
-
Honestly? I -blam!-ing hope so. I'm so tired of the poor asking for split screen. Split screen sucks and one of the main reasons why we have the internet for gaming now.
-
No one split screen's anymore.
-
Play Smash Bros.
-
Gaming companies are pushing us to constant online connection coop environments. I just read on article on it yesterday. Games from smaller companies will still have split screen but don't expect to see it from the big companies.
-
I'm not sure if it's sales oriented or not, but I do know games look shitloads better if you avoid splitscreen.
-
Games are bigger and more graphically taxing than ever. Split screen either can't be done, or can't be done without taking a massive hit in graphics
-
My husband and I would really like it to be split screen, and when we have party's we usually like to play games with that feature such as Halo. But if it can't happen, I won't be too disappointed. I just don't see the harm in having split screen.

YOU can help add splitcreen to Destiny. Sign the petition at change.org. http://www.change.org/petitions/destiny-add-split-screen-co-op#share

Edited by Gatsby: 6/13/2014 11:30:33 AMsplitscreen is great, playing with others is 10x more enjoyable than playing alone. borderlands has it, i don't see why bungie couldn't have implemented it.

Wii U has split-screen. Just sayin

I think they are trying to get rid of split screen as they do want to sell more consoles and they are pushing for everyone to play online as they charge us extra to do this. I think it is a bit short sighted as some of us still play local split screen and like you said how better to introduce your friends to a game they wouldn't usually buy, by letting them play split screen with you. Some of us older gamers remember the days when we would have three friends around and play Goldeneye or Halo on one console. I think all games should support this and system link as well as online play. Yes they may have to reduce the detail or the resolution to enable us to play split screen but that wouldn't bother me personally. If your friends won't play Halo or Destiny with you, don't worry there are plenty of people on b.net that will!

I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't play split-Screen Titanfall with my Brother as a guest, same with Destiny. I don't really see how you can omit a major feature of gaming and call it "the future." The only real disadvantage to having split screen was more advanced games had to tone down the graphics to make it work, but that's not really something you should disable it over.
jax sedrin: Three people in the reddit thread I linked above (including myself) mentioned how not having split-screen prevents them from playing with their wives. The gamespot article linked to in the reddit post has three more people saying the same thing. And four more people in this thread (so far) said it as well. And that's just husbands talking about how they wanted to use this game as a way to spend time with their significant others, to share their interests with them, which strengthens their relationships. What about siblings in the same household? What about a parent that likes to spend time gaming with their child? What about friends and neighbors that don't own/can't afford these expensive consoles like we can? The game is about co-op. Bungie has made that very clear. But when they say "We can't make a game for every type of player", they are really saying "We're only making the game for people that have friends that own the same console and live in a different household." I've been hyping this game to my wife for several months now. I told her I finally found a game I think we can both really get into other than Halo. I already have a ton of single player games that I try to find time to play without her, but I don't want to have to choose between spending time with my wife and my love of video games. I want a game like Destiny, that I can play for hours, days, months, possibly even years with her, in the same room, and share the experience with her in person. Please. Bring back split-screen.
That's just one of the many reasons splitscreen must come back to Destiny. Help join our fight. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post?id=65349153

The Lego games do haha. Gears of War and Halo have always had it, so hopefully when they release it will be there!
-
It is a shame fewer and fewer games are including split-screen. Definitely one of my favorite console features.
-
I hope Halo 5 or 6 won't be the victim of this continuing treachery to fun.
-
I think having almost every game being able to play online is probably the reason for less split screen in games.
-
I don't think anyone's trying to explicitly do away with it, but it's slowly being phased out because it's an obsolete feature.
-
Get a Wii U.

Now, Destiny is the exact example of what will happen to future gaming. All online. Only single player. They will force us to buy multiple televisions, consoles, and disks in order to play with our friends and families. This is the future. They will begin to leave last-gen consoles behind, and nothing will be in their way. We may be gamers, but truly, we have no power on our own. We need to band together, and bring the fight to them! Join me! http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post?id=65349153

I hope they don't, I'd rather not take turns with my brothers.

Split-screen? Why would you put yourself through such a horrible experience? Simply purchase another Xbox One™, another copy of the newest and most epic game (such as Titanfall™), and play over premium P2P Xbox Live™!

Edited by Luis: 1/22/2014 3:02:35 AMI hope not,I always enjoyed playing with my cousin on Halo Reach
-
Gee. I hope not. Nothing worse than taking turns when you have friends over.
-
Because then both people have to pay for the game.
