Would all our flying dreams come true?
PS: I mean when the Earth stops spinning around the sun, not the earth itself.

You have know idea what you just posted! Why would we fly if the earth stops " spinning" around the sun. Man you're a dumass go whatch some documentaries about planets, gravity, space and learn something before posting on something you know nothing about. And I'll work on my grammar .

In order for the Earth to escape the sun, it would have to speed up for the orbit to become hyperbolic. Maybe there'll be some effect that the increased speed has on us instantly? But hell if I know, I'm an idiot. Also it would probably have to be a very sudden process to be noticeable right? Something drastic like an apocalyptic collision wouldn't even make a dent in our orbit I assume (and in that scenario our orbit will be the least of your worries). The moon is moving away from the Earth (it's gonna stop "spinning around" us at some point), but it's moving away so slowly it's imperceptible. The lunar astronauts didn't really need to worry about flying accidents. Obviously the simpler long term answer is that if the Earth slows down its orbit, it will nose dive into the sun, and if it speeds up it will be shot away from the sun. I would assume that the Earth speeding up or slowing down wouldn't be a problem in itself (other than we'd eventually burn or freeze), the problem would probably come if it did it all of a sudden. Maybe kinda like a train collision compared to a train slowly coming to a stop at a station. One will send you flying, the other will not Please don't take anything I say as if I know what I'm talking about. I am just an idiot taking a shot at predicting the answer.

So, you mean, if the earth stopped orbiting?
-
We'd probably all be dead
-
Depending on if you mean just it shooting off in a straight line from when it is now then it depends. Right now it'll get colder and colder since we are going away from the sun, around may we will go like normally then veer towards the sun and die.
-
It's gonna get hotter bit by bit before the earth plunges into the sun's atmosphere. Then we'll hit the surface and we will all be dead, reduced to nothing more than a puff of superheated steam.
-
No, the earth will immediately begin a free-fall into the sun, since it's not orbiting.

Quite possibly.
-
We're technically already flying. If you're talking about double flying then yes dreams will come true but then it would be inception.
-
ARE YOU A LEKGOLO TOO?
-
I think you accidentally a word.
-
We would probably all die.

If Earth continues to turn around itself, i think the only repercution at short terme will be the end of seasons cycle. After that i have no ideas, and what about the others planets, have they also stop to turn around the Sun ?
