The only type of car I'd ever buy. It's the best anti theft mechanism going in the states, lol.
-
Everyone should know how.
-
Edited by Smarkdow: 1/18/2014 7:45:49 PMNope and there is really no need to. Any advantages manual transmissions may have had no longer exist. Most manufacturers aren't including manual transmissions as options for their automobiles. It is going the way of the dodo, and nobody will miss it. You're welcome.

Yes I can
-
Yep. :)
-
Yes, well no
-
Theoretically I can. I know how it all works. My friend tried teaching me in highschool a couple years back. Got it going on 5th try or so. But I wish I had a manual car.
-
Everyone should learn how to do this
-
Yes it's my daily driver and it's just so much better
-
Bro you can't get pussy if you don't drive stick.
-
-
Of course, as it is mandatory to take your driving test in a manual unless you apply for the lesser licence. Also I'm not an elderly woman or disabled so....
-
<3 my six-speed.
-
-
Yep. That'a how I learned on my dad's '92 Chevy 1500.

Edited by FoMan123: 1/17/2014 7:21:03 PMI learned to drive on stick, and owned 3 manual transmission cars throughout my life. Having driven both, though, I honestly think that learning to drive on a stick (and driving one) makes you a more attentive, better driver. But crawling through an hour-long traffic jam on a stick shift is just about the worst thing ever. Once I started driving to work, I switched over to automatic.
-
Yea, but I still prefer automatic.

Edited by TGI Skuldier: 1/17/2014 7:45:40 PM>Move for internship >Take '92 Ranger because its my preferred daily and its reliable as hell >Scoped out everything before, seemed to be okay >First day of work >First 20 minutes is fine because I'm on the highway >Finally hit the city/town/trap/abyss >Bumper to bumper traffic all day every day >Not one competent driver >Smart cars and Prius's everywhere, with occasional soccer mom in a van >Hippie drum circle on sidewalk, slowly spreading into street >Seventeen school speed zones >Speed limits changing in 15 mile increments for no reason >Green Energy bonanza further down the road >Bearded hipsters giving me dirty looks Welcome to manual transmission hell
-
I can if my back is to the wall, but I'm not very good. I've only driven a manual 3 times. At this point there's not a huge benefit to driving manual over automatic. It's just more complicated.
-
Yeah, I may drive a car with a straight 4, but at least I don't drive an automatic. It wasn't difficult moving from a motocross bike(6spd manual, for those that don't know, clutch is at your left hand, shifter is at your foot) to the Jeep Wrangler that I learned to drive with. It was a pain in the ass starting on hills(can't just pull the hand brake and feather out the clutch, had no hand brake, just a parking brake) in the beginning.
filthy automatic casuals
I honestly prefer a 2 cycle engine enduro bike to any car though. Twice the HP(theoretical) with less weight, parts, and easier maintenance.
If you're not mixing gas, you're not hauling ass.
Edited by CND AAA Beef: 1/15/2014 4:44:22 AMNo. But I'm going to learn how on my brother's car over the summer. EDIT: Wait, Americans need a separate licence to drive stick?
-
>in the process of learning how
-
no because im a god
-
In theory... But I'm a bad driver overall.
-
Yup. And I will never go automatic because I find driving fun and always will.
-
If you can't drive manual, then you can't drive. At most you know how to steer.
