Foundry, Forgeries and Fun

Cheese-filled alliteration aside, we're obviously paying close attention to the Forge-based shenanigans that have been transpiring on the Internet and in the interest of trying to herd the cats of creation into a single file line, please post your best Forge Variants here, with well-written and descriptive depictions of your map. Paint with your words, like you've painted on Foundry's canvas. I've cross-posted text from another Forge/Gametypes thread here on the Forums. Do apply the format to Foundry specifically and go to town. We're watching, anxious to see your creations. Weapon sets have been made close to identical on both sides of Snowbound in an attempt to remove the tendency of players to crouch camp underneath. This map is ideal for 2-10 players. [/b] [i]How to make these posts. 1. Create a gametype and map variant, upload these to your File Share. 2. Publish the Gametype and Map variants to the forums, save the links to those threads. 3.   • [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15360667]Ultima[/url] Ultima is a reconstruction of Foundry featuring 2 bases, one in each corner of the map. The area where the wall juts out is cut off by stacked walls to make the map a square. Two sets of stairs lead up to a platform with a Sniper Rifle and a barrier for the sniper's protection. Under the stairs is a room with a sword and two Battle Rifles, with a wall protecting those inside the room from view. There is another wall a few squares out from the main base that protects from long-range spawn camping. On top of these walls is a platform with a turret on it, which is useful for killing the enemy mongii that are protected by the platform on each side. On the corners where there are no bases, there are mancannons with a wall on each side to ensure that the desired angle of flight will take place when using the mancannon. At precisely the area where the mancannons drop a man, there is a mini base with a flare and two SMGs in it, one for each team. Between these two bases is a Shotgun, and slightly to the left and right of the Shotgun there are two singular boxes, one with an Active Camo and another with an Overshield. There are two needlers in the map, one on each side of the black bridge-type thing that is built into the ground of the map. This map is great for Classic CTF, Multi-bomb and default Team Slayer variants. In fact, the only variant it may not be good for is infection. 8-16 players [Edited on 12.14.2007 1:14 PM PST]

  • Welcome to the industrial scrap mountain that is Mt. [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15360513]Killimanjaro[/url]! In this map variant, a mass of crates, boxes and bridges are used to create a "mountain" on which players battle. It is designed for assault (preferably Neutral Assault) or slayer game types. In assault the bomb is placed at the peak of the mountain. There are several paths and ways up to the peak. Check it out, there is more info in the link.

  • If what you want is a little bit of racing, then this is the map for you, Carritos is a map i made with the help of one of my friend, its basically a medium size racing track up to 2 players. It has 3 levels, and some bumping and jumping. I took me about 12 hours but i think is a preatty decent track. Try iy and modify it. I've done my best to balance out the weapon placement.   • [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15359649]The Maze Of All Mazes[/url] Description: Here is one of the few maps you will not be disappointed with. This is a great maze for people just looking for fun, not just killing. It is a fairly long maze if your good at remembering telporter locations. The whole roof of the maze is covered with bridges and boxes to prevent people from esily jumping out (of course though you can if you really tried). There is a great ending to the maze that is a load of fun which I suppose would be a good reason to keep trying to finish the maze! There are "trick" teleporters that will send you back a little ways and a few that send you back to the very beggining! The maze will get harder as you move on. Also, for the last teleporter which leads you to the end (it's a surprise!) it will be fairly noticeable that is the teleporter you have to take, that is, once you get that far! Please check out my Service Record gallery for photos of the map before you download if you like. Any feedback is welcomed!

  • Uploaded in my file share is my version of Halo 2's Lockout. Created with the basics of the original's structure in mind, and created to fit inside of Foundry's boundaries (It's a rhyming game!), I have recreated this favorite map. However, such places as where the sword once spawned and the two ways to get to the very top have been removed for space. In replace, a double staircase had been added to reach the very top where the Foundery's sky boundary barely prevents jumping on both sides of the map. Also changed was how you reached the sword area: a two-way teleporter. Hope this map is fun if you decide to download it, and I will accept easy critisism. EDIT: I ahve a new version of this map, with the correct weapon and scenery pieces positionned.   • This foundry map is set in the storm the castle style. The defenders have a tower with two plasma cannons, fuel rod cannon, beam rifle, energy sword, and all the other covenant weapons. There is a ghost in the corner for those brave souls wishing to bring it to the attackers. The attackers get all the spartan weapons and two bases to attack from. Use the stairs for a flanking manuver or go straight up the gut. Great map for Team slayer, one bomb, team doubles, or big team battle. Check it out and give me some feedback.   • (Just realised this thread was here for foundry...) [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15301209]Sidewinder remake[/url] I have remade Sidewinder in Foundry on Halo 3. I tried to get every detail down as best I could and since its a mini map and things are closer together I felt warthogs would be too much of a hassle so each team gets 2 mongooses and 1 ghost and a host of weapons for both to choose from.. Not to mention the must-have-for-sidewinder rocket launcher in the middle upper area.

  • my first map is soccer here is the [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15323047]gametype[/url] and the [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15323011]map[/url] me and my friends think its a really fun map. the soccer ball spawns on the side and gets man cannoned to the middle and if by chance the ball gets over the wall there is a teleporter on top of the goals to get on the other side of the walls. there is also a man cannon on the other side of the wall that u can push the ball into to get it back into the playing area. the second map is a maze built for zombies. the [url=http://http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15323403]map[/url] and the [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15323456]gametype[/url] are both here. this maze is as big as the map. most of the maze is covered from the top and there is one exit that takes u to the top of the maze. 2 zombies spawn some where in the map and all humans spawn at one end try to get to the end of the maze without being turned into a zombie. the third map is basketball . [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15407987]map[/url] and the [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15362586]gametype[/url] this is a really cool basketball map made by me and LGI Rocker and ther are 2 grave lifts on the sides of the court on top of teleporters ( a tip i found out after i saved the map and put it on my file share that the teleporters holding up the 2 grave lifts are on so u might want to change those so there not on.) and there are man cannons on all 4 corners of the map that will shoot u across the map to SLAM DUNK ! it from across the map which is really fun by the way. and the final map is really just something me and my friend Il LeGeND II made for fun all u do is have someone stand on the barrel in the cage and drop any of the objects that are in the cages by the platform with the gravlifts on the top gravlift and let it do the rest. it is really fun to crush ur friend with a steel door( this might remind u of the object launcher thing from the new red vs blue episode .) there is no gametype for this because u do it in forge so u can drop the bid objects on the gravlifts EVEN A WARTHOG!! the link to the map is [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15323789]here[/url] a new map i just made is [url=http:// http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15408444]here[/url] and the [url=http://http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15408368]gametype[/url] its a really fun football map with the bomb spawning on one side as the recieving team that has to run the bomb to the other side of the field and get it to one of the 3 bomb plant points if the person holding the bomb dies its counted as a fumble and the other team can try to get a TOUCHDOWN!!! Mainly because Foundry is a revolution for Forgers. Well Forge Hub promises well made maps that you can trust. SO here is a map you know you will have fun in. A map, that many thought was the pre-made Foundry from Bungie. It is that well made, and that thought out. It took a party of 4 and 8 STRAIGHT HOURS of work. CHECK IT OUT!!! The focus of this map was first a maze for FFA Slayer. We went with a multi-demensional maze, cuz it posed a greater challenge. We went through, and tried to avoid camp zones... making atleast 2 ways to every part of the map. We started with the wall to block off the rest of Foundry, built the starting stairs, the added some crates here and there. While making the map, we thought it would be cool to incorporate man cannons to transport you to a different part of the maze. SO there are 3 of those on the map. And we wanted a unique way of getting to the 2nd floor, so we created an elevator. We wanted a nice view of the map so we made a sniper tower. We wanted fun so we added weapons. The trick to this map is the grenades, you MUST be good at bouncing grenades. The sniper rifle will help, but only if your good. The rockets, camo, and shotgun were overpowered, so they were fixed. There are few plasmas on here, cuz we wanted a focus on frags. Us the scenery objects to gain altitude to confuse your opponent in mid-fight. We created it, but mid-fight it is really hard to tell where you are... giving that confused feel of the map. With the multiple floors, reading your radar only gives you half of their location. You must look around to learn the other half. This is another quality map from Forge Hub... I hope you guys enjoy it!!! [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=17007815] Stairway2Heaven [/url] This map consists of two small "base" areas separated by a large 2 level square area in the middle. A teleporter zips you to the top of the base for an instant sniper duel. there are four mini-"towers", one at each corner of the map. They overlook the outer rim of the map, but will be under fire from anyone able to get to the top middle. The catch is that the only viable way to reach the top is up a stairway that is right in front of the opposing base (which they have no access to). So you can either bum rush the perimeter, hold the map down from the sniper perch, or coordinate weapon fire and grenades from the side towers and middle levels to allow someone to reach the top and plop a bubble shield for a brief moment of healing before you rain death from above on the other team.
