Foundry, Forgeries and Fun

Cheese-filled alliteration aside, we're obviously paying close attention to the Forge-based shenanigans that have been transpiring on the Internet and in the interest of trying to herd the cats of creation into a single file line, please post your best Forge Variants here, with well-written and descriptive depictions of your map. Paint with your words, like you've painted on Foundry's canvas. I've cross-posted text from another Forge/Gametypes thread here on the Forums. Do apply the format to Foundry specifically and go to town. We're watching, anxious to see your creations. [b][url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=13209070]Rebound, a Re-imagination of Snowbound[/url] Designed with Symmetrical-arena style slayer play in mind, Rebound takes elements of Snowbound that previously turned the map into an interior camping battle, like the Shotgun, and awards both teams a Shotgun in their respective bases. Weapon sets have been made close to identical on both sides of Snowbound in an attempt to remove the tendency of players to crouch camp underneath. This map is ideal for 2-10 players. [/b] [i]How to make these posts. 1. Create a gametype and map variant, upload these to your File Share. 2. Publish the Gametype and Map variants to the forums, save the links to those threads. 3. Create post in this thread, and link to the Map variant and Gametype at the Publish to Forums link here [this way players can easily click those links and download your gametypes. 4. Create a well-written explanation of changes made to the map and if necessary a description of the gametype you've created, including ideal number of players, number of teams (if necessary) and any other relevant information. Please write as clearly and coherently as possible. 5.   • MLG style Hang Em' High This is not an exact replicant of hang em' high! Why? Beause they dont play right(if you dont know, Hang Em High is ment to be a control type game of big and little towers, force spawning players into the empty down bellow). I have been tunning this map for quite a while and its finaly shaped up and tunned (spawn points took way to many games) to the point where Im confident I can release it. Being a big MLG fan, it is only set with those weapons, spawn times, and power ups. It works best with 2-6 players but 4V4 would be fine (have not play tested 4v4) It has the big and little towers, the sniper tunnel, rocket brdge, and empty center scattered with stratigcaly placed dumpsters (yes the jumps are meant to be there). Me and my freinds have playtested this so much we have call outs! Pleae comment and have fun with it! p.s.- I also have a Rat Race beta (ran out of money so I need to tune alot of things) wich is a map based on flanking and am in progress of making a prisoner map!   • stepbystep on standoff; one of the bases has been retrofited to entered at the bottom by humans.and at the top by zombies. the zombies must fight their way through each level of the base to kill the humans.all non top or bottom entrances are blocked by man cannons.

  • my best map: [url=http://www.bungie.net/forums/posts.aspx?h3fileid=29136240]showdown[/url] This is probably my best map yet. It has a competitive slayer oriented style to it but should be playable with all default gametypes. Gameplay tends to gravitate towards the big tower when playing with small parties so I reccomend playing with 6 or more people, 8 would prbably be the best party size for a good, competitive game.

  • This is basically a team slayer based map meant for atleast 6 on 6 but preferably 8 on 8. It has a slight MLG feel as players have a limited number of lives and therefore have to constantly have each others backs. The maps consists of one side a UNSC vehicle storage facitlity including 1 scorpian, 1 hornet, 3 mongooses and 3 warthogs. The opposing side to this is a crash landing side of a covenant cruiser. It contains an array of weapons and 2 copies of all vehicles apart from the wraith of which there is only one. Vehicles must also be used wisely as they only spawn once.   • I didn't just want to make any old King of the Hill map... So instead I made a King of the Volcano map. There are three tiers to my volcano, with each tier randomly becoming the "hill". The bottom two tiers are only as dangerous as your opponents, but when the "hill" moves to the peak, look out! This volcano is active, and will randomly spew fire and brimstone skyward as you and your enemies fight for control of the hill. Platform #1: Above the volcano itself. Here you'll find an active camo (or if you prefer, you can swap this out with an overshield). 30 seconds after the match starts, a man cannon spawns near one of the perimeter walls, allowing access to this platform. Platform #2: Above the center of the room. Here you'll find a Gravity Hammer. Outside the fencing at one corner of the volcano's base you'll see a teleporter that will warp you up to a small catwalk that leads to this platform. Once here, you can easily jump down onto the volcano, Gravity Hammer in hand. Platform #3: Back of the room. Here you'll find a Rocket Launcher. This one's easy to get to, but also the farthest away from the action. There's a portable grav lift right below this platform. Set it up, jump up, and the Rockets are yours. This map is good for any number of players/gametypes, but mostly we've been playing Crazy King with 4-5 friends. Give it a try, just don't get cooked!

  • foolproof(zombie map) is on gaurdian and is a panzie clan favorite. The lower level grav lift room is where the humans survive at.both of the dropdown spots have been blocked by unmovable crates. and the doors to the room are blocked with deathtraps(sneak in proof)in the base is a br ,a pistol,a shotgun,a sniper,a plasma rifle,a flamethrower,and fire and spike nades.in a side room there is a mongoose for retrieving your buddies that spawn outside the base.(deathtraps are teleporters)the only way in is for the humans to get close enough to the grav lift to get sliced by the zombies through it.(makes it interesting)

  • I have created a new map on foundry which is followed by a game type aswell, im not sure if any one has done it before. wat is the best way to show people it and intro it. ?? im putting it up for file shar so feel free to take a look basicly it is a map called dodge ball. there are two teams u start with magnums you dont get any points just for shooting them you have to collect some stickeys from the middel and stick your aponts to gain your points hense the name dodge ball.

Anyway, the map is called playhouse. It took me like 4 hours (not all at once, in bits and pieces) to make and features several campouts for sniping, warthogs and ghosts, a small floating cage with powerups, and a variety of weapons spread throughout. On top of that, there is a large winding cage made up of fence cages for close range combat, a back room full of goodies, and on top of it all several cover points just in case an opponent utilizes the campouts. You will have a hell of a time getting to the back room, but I will give you a hint: above the small floating cage there is a sender node and a receiver node concealed by shield doors to keep those pesky snipers out. Go through that sender node, and you will have a plethra of weapons at your disposal. I hope nobody takes credit for this map, because I really worked hard on it. Download and rate RIGHT NOW!
