Alright fine, Jesus Christ, maybe Deej did write females on purpose, instead of "people." Who the -blam!- cares. It's not like the crazy kid's guitar playing, annoying girlfriend that he wanted to ice, was gonna find and go into Deej's house and bang him or something.

I see tons of people banned pretty often for a variety of reason. If you don't use the report button, they might never see the offending content.

I use the report button, trust me. I am just saying that none of the things I have found offensive/crossing the line have been banned, but a joke thread about a girl gets made and the entire forum is in an uproar and Deej makes an official statement on it.

Then make more of an uproar about the specific incidents you have a problem with. Whining about it here wont make a difference.

The only silly thing is how many people have replied to DeeJ's post, making something out of nothing. OP made a poor choice in posting this thread, and was banned for it. DeeJ shouldn't have to tip-toe around every keystroke to make sure he doesn't incite any arguments.

Unrelated, but I've been meaning to ask you this. Why does it bother you so much when people call each other "offensive" names? You've said that you report anyone who calls someone else a fag or whatever, but I don't really understand why. This site is oriented to older people (when I say older, I mean late teens and up), so why does this offend you so much?

Personally, I'm not offended by the use of fag or hate speech, really; they're just words. I have a vocabularly that would normally make a sailor blush. I don't think swear words really have much of an effect on me. Unfortunately, there aren't too many slurs directed toward straight white males, so while I may be empathetic, I can't really sympathize. However, this place [#offtopic in particular] has become a cesspool of hatred, especially since the b.next update. Without the stricter rules we had before, and a more lenient blam filter, the chains have come off and people say whatever they want, largely with impunity. The reason I report such posts is because of the whole "don't be a dick" part of the CoC, and it's my attempt to try to reign in the hatred and make this a better place...for some reason that is beyond my comprehension.

I just feel like if someone is harassing you, just mute them, or ignore them. This place is respectable enough if you mute the few, and I mean very few trolls that are the main cause of the problem.

My mute list is pretty mild, I think, even though it's several pages long. It's mostly just camnator alts, rose alts, and a handful of dickheads that I have no desire to see their posts.

I don't have anyone muted atm, and I only mute extreme spammers (the people that post stuff that takes a minute to scroll through). It just doesn't bother me. It's great that everyone can control their experience now, but with that, what's the point of banning someone for anything short of something illegal?

There are obviously some big issues with moderation on this site, but I don't think that tightening the grip on the posters that use words like fag, and otherwise contribute to the community, is the answer. (I got banned for 30 days on my main. I'm not exactly sure why, but, if I had to guess, it was probably because I called someone that I know a fag jokingly. If I get banned for that while the blatant, non-joking hate in many other threads can go unchecked, I don't know what to say.)
