  • Trueskill is always present in all Halo playlists in all online games. Each game has then integrated a developer specific rank version on top of that. The visible rank takes into account other factors is all. I think having a personal toggle to have rank as public or friends only or hidden, then just default it to public and let players choose what they want from there.

They used experience based ones, which is fine. Every Halo used Trueskill since H3, which is also fine, but making it visible is not. It was purely based on your trueskill number which went from 1-50. This was based on your wins and losses versus other trueskill ratings, from which the system would deduce a probability of victory and aware you a rating accordingly (if you won a game you were unlikely to win, you went up- lose one you were likely to win, you go down quicker). This is what people are asking to return in a visible setting, and this is what many people asked NOT to have after Halo 3- of which I was and still am one. There are quite literally zero benefits to outweigh the negatives of having it visible, therefore the only reason anybody would be asking for it is out of selfishness, I feel.   • I think that sucks, because you can't feel the progression of your skill because you keep matching people at your skill level, and you can't see the progression because of a lack of visible rank. This is why Halo 4 was a bit frustrating, when the trueskill caught up to me I felt average

You're essentially saying you feel bad because the system is fair and is working. That's kinda silly, mate. YOU feel better when you're playing people that are not at your skill level, but what about them? THEY feel crappy because the system clearly isn't working. When the system works, you're supposed to win around half your games. In short, you're supposed to be average. That's a good thing.

  • This could have been expanded to in game rank, display to friends only, ranked vs. social. I suppose I just cut to the chase :) Point taken though mate. The flood vs infection and details about gunplay could have used more fleshing out too. After some feedback I've been hesitant to alter the survey so we have one set of data. A GAF member pointed that out so I've opted to just roll on with the first version I put together. I am considering a more detailed follow up series but we'll see what the final infographic becomes.
