Just read it, the way they talk about millions of players interests me, I release day Reach hit over 300k users, but they seem to think they will have far more than that.
Could a PC port be part of the delay?

Millions of people buy Halo day one. They all don't jump into multi-player. Destiny is an online only game. If millions of people buy this game on day 1, there will be millions of people online. Since this game has a bigger focus on co-op/story, you'll have millions of players playing the game at the same time.
-
Ahhh, I did not think of the always online aspect.
-
Millions. MMO ?
-
Not millions of people in the same playspace. Millions of people playing the game at the same time. Think about it like this, everyone playing Halo Reach's campaign at the same time. There are millions of people playing, but you're essentially alone. OR even matchmaking, if there are millions of people online, but you're only playing with a handful of people.
-
Ahh. Ok. :p. Good mmos are boring
-
If Bungie says it isn't an MMO, it isn't an MMO lol. I think they are really determined to have "shared world shooter" be a new term.
-
Well mmos Do have a bad name to them and are dying.
-
But he said millions of players. Only mmos can have millions of players. Destiny should not take the MMO elements. They should of just made it online and stuff
-
No. MMOs don't have millions of players. Or if they do, then so does any popular game with online capabilities. MMOs have servers. Destiny doesn't really work that way.
-
It works like journey. It can handle to many people. Destiny should take out raids and public events. Those are MMO elements.
-
Having elements of a genre doesn't make it a genre.
-
Well then MMO genre is truly dead. Being called a MMO is the worse thing for a game. Shared world is the future death to mmos.
-
Raids are going to be the best part of the game.
-
Then mmos must die. The shared world must be the only genere with raids
-
...If they were doing all of this just to make a PC port, then they would have simultaneously announced it with the reveal. Not to mention, a PC Port is a pretty terrible reason to delay the console release :)
-
Well, I guess a port wouldn't take more than a month or two if they devoted a large team to it, at least according to AMD. I wonder what delicious content they are packing in.
-
Erm,,, no, I can assure you that it wouldn't take a month or two, the bug testing alone would take longer than that.
