So, now that it's all out there what has it been? I made this thread halfway through 2013 and TLoU dominated the poll. Has that changed?

  • TLoU, easily. GTA V has boring and terrible gameplay. It was such a bore going through the gameplay, just to be able to see the characters interact with each other. Though the characters are greatly acted, they don't make me like them. With the exception of the main character Micheal (yes I said that). With all the space they give for travel, it is just mainly useless land, and you spend the majority of the time in a simple city. Whereas for The Last of Us, it utilizes sound to make it's gameplay more innovative (but not massively). Though it is linear, there are multiple ways you can handle the situation whether it be loud and abrupt, or quiet and stealthy. The characters are believable, and IMO greatly compliment the world they live in. The relationship between Joel and Ellie makes for an interesting pair; Considering how Joel lived through the start of the infection and how Ellie was born into it. I can't say much about the world itself (considering it's a linear game), but the distance is felt through landmarks and cities seen throughout the game. That doesn't go to say that the game is perfect, because at times your ally/allies ruin the immersion with their waltzing out in plain sight of enemies and nothing happening.
