It's curious nobody commented here before, But I saw too that Vergil is helping you throughout the game, or at least trying to make contact with you (I haven't finished the game) There was a level where I saw detour signs inside a building that had no relation with what I was doing, So I supossed it was Vergil, there it led me to a courtyard where I found one of the audiofiles. plus there's some barricades from the floor that pop up in certain instances where you are gettin shot at. It's truly interesting.
