Local reports said Mr Pike had received more than 17,000 angry or threatening emails, 10,000 text messages and hundreds of letters after the video of the pepper-spraying was published.
This is why he's receiving compensation. Try not to twist the truth please.
Edit: Not saying I agree with the cop's actions, but the title is never-the-less bias.

Awesome. Now more cops will intentionally brutalize people to receive a check :P

Wow you're an idiot.

Edited by cxkxr: 10/24/2013 7:22:40 PMNot really. >Cop pepper sprays kids >Cop gets paid 40k >Other cops see this >Other cops do it bc who wouldn't want 40k for receiving hate mail? I'd do all kinds of evil shit as a cop, knowing I'd get hate mail, which lands me a fa check.

I'll bet you a million dollars that if this thread was about a teenager that committed suicide due to cyberbullying, everyone would be calling him a crybaby for not using the block button.
-
you know the last major case everyone got worked up about in the national media about some girl who hung herself? turned out she was messaging herself with the bullying messages.
-
cool story, not at all relevant to that we're talking about but whatever
-
There is a difference between a few bullies, and literally thousands of threats.
-
A handful of people with enough free time can send more than a few thousand threats. Thank you for proving my point, though.
-
I doubt that anybody would want to do that, it's quite a specific situation as well. Also, you're an idiot if you think I proved you point. There are obvious differences between those two situations, and can't really be compared. I think the cop shouldn't of been give money, he should of got over it.

You haven't read many articles on the subject, then. But at least you're consistant.
