I didn't watch the whole video yet (watching in between working), but I'm confused about your first point. I couldn't understand your stance on exploration.. you say that you feel obligated to explore most games just because they put hidden items in the nooks and crannies. However you seem not to want to explore a vast barren mountain range. I take it you want somewhere in between.. Like landmarks (i.e. not full blown missions) scattered around that are worth stopping at to explore in a little more depth?

  • Exploration is cool and all, but it's ultimately a hollow experience if there's nothing to do at the locations you visit. A lot of Skyrim's overworld for example was pretty boring to me because a large majority of it is simply huge craggly mountains that serve to divide the area up and force the player along heavily traveled paths, and it didn't feel like there were any meaningful encounters between dungeons aside from the odd dragon.

  • I agree. After I discovered areas in Skyrim, I would just fast travel to them. I didn't feel like the overworld was worth re-trekking. But I bet Bungie will vastly improve the feel of the overworld with the public events!
