Destiny & Halo

I've noticed many people on the forums discuss what we know about Destiny, and cite similarities to Halo. Bungie IS the company that brought you Halo, which is by far the most influential FPS of gaming. ***Note*** This not a post about whether or not Halo is "the best." Save that for another post, please. What concerns me, is that from what I've seen of people making references to Halo, they talk about it like it's a BAD thing. So what if the new ViDoc had footage of a shield that is reminiscent of Halo 3 equipment? Who cares if the weapons are similar to Halo weapons? Didn't you like to play Halo at some point? Didn't Bungie bring us great gaming experiences from Halo: CE all the way to Halo: Reach? While I wasn't a member of the Bungie community back during Halo: CE, I still played it with my buddies. Bringing TV's and Xboxs together for LAN Multiplayer was some great times. I finally found out I could join Bungie.net when Halo 2 came out, and made my first account then. While each Halo game had its flaws, you wouldn't be here if Halo weren't great games created by Bungie. It was Halo that made us trust in Bungie in the first place, and I for one will not be disappointed if there are similar features in Destiny. In my opinion, this may be a GOOD thing. Bungie is taking their past experiences, and learning from them. The Sabre from Halo: Reach was obviously a test bed for them to implement things in Destiny such as our own personal Ships. I would not be surprised if we saw other vehicles that will perform the same roles that we have become accustom to from the Halo franchise. We've seen weapons as such. They're taking what they know, and applying it to a new game from scratch: Different modes, different play style, different themes, and different visuals. I mean, this is the first time that I've seen where we can hold more than two weapons in a Bungie game. (I may be mistaken about Marathon & Myth) So I urge the Community: Stay patient. Let this holiday blow over with the next gen console releases and their subsequent launch titles. I don't mind, because once that time has pass, there will be nothing to oppose the greatness of Destiny's coming. No Assassin's Creed, TitanFall, CoD, Dead Rising, Ryse, or Watch Dogs. My body is ready. - Sit Down Fools
