Give me three examples of shooters where the gun play mechanics aren't generic that have been made after 2005. Bonus points if at least one of them is popular and not Halo.
The reality of it is, it's incredibly difficult to make unique gun play mechanics because there aren't many directions to go to. It's the rest of the game that will decide how unique it is.

Care to elaborate? I haven't played enough Bioshock to really have gotten to know the weapon mechanics. Anyway, Bioshock games count as one because they are part of the same series. Still two to go.
