Suggestions for Nintendo to fix it's situation?

If you're interested and educationally able, read. I think the article is very fair and realistic in its assessment of Nintendo's current situation as well as in the suggestions to fix said situation. I don't hate Nintendo. I owned all of their systems up until the Gamecube. I'd love to see Nintendo rebound, but unless they change some things, even their first party titles won't save the system. Discuss.

 • They won't ever get 3rd parties back. It's pointless to continue to pursue them. They can stand on their own by being a first party console. The 'ace in the hole' is exactly what I would suggest to Nintendo. A Pokemon console game, on par with the handheld series, with an awesome (Ni No Kuni like) combat system would be a system seller. Hell, I'd get a Wii-U just for that game. Other than that, they need to up their line up (also on par with what the article said), expand Mario like they did with Mario Galaxy. Mario 3d World looks kinda cool. Release an amazing Zelda title. Actually.. invest in NEW quirky franchises. Pikmin launched on the gamecube. It was a cool new first party game. With more and more franchises like that, they can succeed this generation, and generations to come (as a first party console). If they want to succeed, package Mario Kart and something like Mario Party or another addictive party title with the system, and advertise that. "Only on Wii-U", sell some consoles.
