I've been in a long distance relationship since January 2nd, 2012. I was in a clan called NSW and we were recruiting on Modern Warfare 3. This girl had joined our try-out lobby. We played on the small map with the big ball thing? Can't remember. This was around the tenth of October in 2011 by the way. But she pretty much kicked my ass in the try-out, so I recommended her for becoming a member. Admittedly, one of the reasons that they let her join was because the clan was a total sausage fest. But hey, that's the Internet isn't it? Anyways, we talked to each other in party chats all the time. Eventually, it got to the point where we would just go into private chats since we couldn't hear each other over my two friends and their bromance. I know you're all probably thinking I was being a white knight and talked to her whenever I could. You're probably right. But we really do get along great and I don't regret this one bit. Eventually we just spend all of our free time talking to each other and playing together. Eventually the clan leader got mad that we weren't showing up anymore and kicked us out. And I mean, like, really mad. We didn't care though. So we hung out with our friends when there was no clan stuff involved. Eventually, I get the nerve to ask her 'out'. It's on the Internet, so kind of a strange term to use. But that's when she said yes, and we started our relationship. We've hit a few rough patches, but we both realized how stupid our arguments are and we care about each other too much to breakup over a bad week. I don't regret starting this relationship one bit. Hopefully, soon, we will be able to meet in person. But until then, I'm glad that I just get to talk to her. TL;DR - I met a girl online over a year ago and we're still together. Haven't met in person yet. Her parents don't know I exist. I have good reasons. She has better reasons. She's pretty good at Call of Duty.
