You make some genuinely good statements, but, I can't see any point in this post until you share some ideas on [i]how[/i] you think this problem could be fixed. I mean, as you said, this [i]is[/i] the Internet, and people [i]are[/i] going to be jerks. Not that I disagree with anything you're saying, but...welcome to the Internet.
