destiny is almost ensured to be always online

Destiny is an online only game, you can't play it offline. Both the Xbox One and the PS4 will require a subscription to play online.

You will be able to play the game without internet tho you can play offline

Edited by Nimmo: 9/7/2013 9:23:48 PMThey (Bungie) are not charging a subscription, and as long as one person on selected next-gen has plus or gold than others on the system can play online as well. Sorry about the non linkage but both points are easily googable.

You sure? I thought they said you could play offline

No, It's all online.
-
So this is confirmed? Because if it is than that really sucks. What do you think of this YoungGaGoons?

This is confirmed. While Bungie and Activision will not charge a subscription fee, you will have to have either PSN/PS+ or XBL Gold and an active internet connection to play.

It's a mmofps. All Mmos require a constant online connection.

So it would be pointless to have the game if the player has no Online connection, right? I haven't really played any Mmos, so I wouldn't know how they work.

[quote]So it would be pointless to have the game if the player has no Online connection, right? While thousands (if not millions) of players will be online at any given time, we still don't know how many we will be able to interact with at once. We know a fireteam will be 3, but outside of that is anyone's guess. Shared world shooter is the term Bungie coined for the type of game Destiny is. But I digress... back to the point: if you do not have internet access and a paid subscription for the console of choice (XBL Gold for 360 and XB1, PS+ for PS4, or PSN which is free on PS3) then you will not be able to play.
