Because that would be fantastic. Maybe even a microgravity battle in a derelict space craft...
-
Bump.
-
It would be really cool if stepping into the role of pilot actually took a lot a skill. It would become valuable among players. Doubt it's gonna happen though
-
I want Destiny to be so accurate that if I must make thousands of calculations and course corrections to come back home, and if I reenter Earth's atmosphere just a degree off course, I burn up and die, losing all of my loot in the process. This level of realism would add to the player skill gap and separate the men from the boys.
-
You can derelict my balls!!
-
Sky-dive off the moon towards earth.
-
don't gonna happen because, SPACE MAGIC!!!!!!
-
I think it would be cool for places like the moon or other low-gravity planets, but for planets that have a higher fore of gravity it would get pretty annoying. Think if you just got off the moon and then went to Venus or something. It would be like from jumping great heights to not jumping at all.
-
I doubt they are going to incorporate gravity differences. It's unnecessary. It may seem kind of cool, but I have a feeling people would find it annoying instead.
-
what of we had gravity boots ;) now thats a good excuse for the science.
-
i was thinking about this the other day. less on the moons, etc..
-
Can we honestly say that Bungie would overlook something like that? I doubt that they would and lets face it that would be a very cool scenario.
-
It's my fear that it might be overlooked. The Law of the Jungle gave me the impression that the moon suddenly grew a few billion tons.
-
From a technical perspective, I don't see why this would be so hard. All I think it would need is to alter one of the variables in the engine depending on where you are, Luna, Mars, etc.
-
From what I've seen, humans terraformed the planets to be livable before they were pushed back to Earth. It's likely this will be used to explain similarities in gravity.
-
Hopefully they do. Especially on the Moon.
-
Omg that would be awesommmmmme
-
I feel like it will only be implemented in cases like what you talked about, it would be too annoying being on the moon and literally moonbouncing everywhere. Just imagine Pluto...
-
Omg yes. And have each planet with their respective gravities. <3
-
It's been a subject on my mind the minute they said that Destiny was taking place within our solar system. There was a brilliant post a while back about the ambient effects of light and shadow along with how each planet would react differently. Bungie's game could be a nice way to kindle some love for the sciences and astronomy with many gamers.
-
Going with the theory that the Traveler made all planets in our solar system habitable (considering even touching Venus' surface is impossible among other things), I think it's safe to assume that the Traveler also tweaked the gravity to a more non-human-spine-crushing setting on the alien planets.
-
I hope so too.
-
I think you're setting your expectations a little too high there. Eh.
-
that would be pretty cool.
-
Me too, baby
