Heroic Map Pack Announced for Halo 3

Will there be any new weapons along with the new maps? For instance I think a great addition would be a funoodle to poke at opposing players. Since I am usually as lethal as if I were armed with a funoodle, I think it would be great for my Spartan to be holding one. Maybe a green one.

What happened to "Purple Reign"? The small symmetrical FFA styled map? I am VERY disappointed in these maps.. VERY. I was expecting an arena styled map because a Bungie rep stated that the new maps will fill up the gaps that Halo 3 has in maps. I have yet to see a small symmetrical FFA map. *sigh* Bungie.. you've done it again!

How could Standoff not be included in the original release of Halo 3 due to time constraints? Didn't they take all the time they needed this go around? I distinctly remember them saying they weren't going to be finished with Halo 3 until they were finished. I smell marketing BS afoot. We're going to have to pay for a level that was supposed to have been included in the original $59.99 disc. That's stupid. Then again, paying 800 Microsoft points for three maps - one of which was originally a launch map and another one that is exclusively a Forge map - is just as ridiculous. Just because a lot of suckers are going to be willing to dish out the money for these come Dec. 11th doesn't make it right. Don't get me wrong, it's a great business move on their behalf. But how about cutting us fans a little slack? A gallon of gas is $3.25 these days; can't they go a little easier on us?

OMG, I saw the picture of the pelican on the 2nd map, and gasped.. I felt joy for 30 seconds, then read below you couldn't fly it... thanks bungie, you made my happiness fly away =(

Wow! MS is really screwing us on the pricing. I know art resources is expensive but MS will probably make another 10 million on these maps. Hardly seems fair since we only got the game 2 months ago. I know Bungie would release these free if they could, but I won't be playing until they are. Please if you feel that the maps should be free DON'T pay for them. It's the only way to send the message to MS. The already charge us a $10 premium on the 360 games $60 per year to play online don't let $10 for each tiny bit of DLC become the standard.

i was excited. Now im dissapointed. (maps just look a bit boring, the first one'll be fun though i'd prefer Blood Gulch (it's too small) I'll wait until spring when its free

I think that was a really bad idea admitting this was left out of the original HALO 3 release. I love the HALO series. I think Bungie has done a wonderful job, but damn, $10 for three maps??? One of which was admittedly supposed to be included in the original release? I also thought that there was Moon Base Alpha and Purple Reign included with these. I will seriously have to consider spending $10 on three maps when Assassin's Creed, COD 4 and Mass Effect are all great games and can occupy my time until spring. A $5 price point on these maps would be much more appealing. Either that or throw in another map or two, please. I have a dozen friends that I regularly play H3 online with, and we have been discussing that this is severely overpriced all morning long. Please, reconsider the pricing on this.

Yeah... I'm happy for DLC... I think it sucks that you have to pay for it. A lot, actually. But I'll probably do it anyway... That gamerpoints crap sure is a slippery slope, eh?

Wow new maps, can't wait. A little over priced but I doubt that Bungie has final say over pricing. Like when Microsoft was forcing Epic to charge for their Gears of War map pack. I doubt Microsoft would give this out for free.
