One of the mottos is "Become Legend"
....that doesn't make any sense.
Shouldn't it be "Become a legend"? Or "Become Legendary?"
You can't "Become Legend"
-
Legend is referred to as a noun, hence the 'L' is capitalized. They want you to become Legend, the way they picture Legend, instead of you becoming a legend in your own way. If this isn't true, I predict you to say, why is raid gear the only way to max your level before an expansion comes out? Why can't other gear cap out at light level 36, so you can tell badass stories about your gear. They made it so people have the same story: raiding. Try again.

The movie "I am Legend" would like to have a word with you...

You can become legend. To say something "is legend" is to say that it has gained a legendary status. You could say, "This story is legend." And if a story "is legend", that means at one point it could "become legend". Destiny is telling you to become legend. It works.

Edited by cB557: 6/13/2013 5:10:09 PMSounds fine to me. Legend is usually a noun, but here it's being used as an adjective. I think. I'm not great with language arts. Edit: Derp, someone beat me to this.

Edited by Nescio: 6/13/2013 2:47:35 PMOr is it? The story is obviously based on the life of John Legend. And we are to walk in his footsteps.

You are thinking of the term "legend" as it's usual meaning, a story or fable about a heroic person or deed. In this case it's a adjective for describing a state of being, it's like saying "become powerful" or "become loved."

So is your face :p

Become legend is sort of like become historic or godlike.
