Clearly PS4. Better specs, cheaper, no DRM, no Kinect, best place to play Destiny. I was meh on titan fall. Looks like Hawken and CoD had a baby. Its available on PC if I want to try it. Only games I was mildly jealous of were Plants vs Zombies and Spark. I thought Killer instinct would be big till they said you get only one character and have to pay for the rest.

  • Better specs is laughable though. Ask anyone with RAM knowledge and they will tell you that DDR3 and DDR5 handle RAM very differently, and the differences between these consoles in hardware specs is absolutely naught.

The Xbox is uses 3GB of its 8GB on its 3 OS's. While the PS4 uses only 1gb. Yes the DDR3 provides a latency advantage, but GDDR5 provides a graphical advantage. Add in the fact that the GPU on the PS4 is 50% more powerful and that does make a difference. Link is a good read if you have time.

  • Cloud computing on X1 provides RAM and graphics boosts without having to upgrade hardware.
So is there any evidence in the Xbox One spec that the cloud is integrated at a hardware level? Well, there are some compression/decompression engines but their efforts would in no way address the extremely low bandwidth available compared to the throughput of data around the console's internal architecture.
Another good read on that as well. Plus Playstation will also have cloud computing. Microsoft does have the head start on this though it would seem.

  • From what I understand, Sony will have game streaming on the cloud, not cloud computing. But I will read the link in full at a later time. Kind of busy doing nothing at all (if that makes sense)

lol I can understand that. Sony spoke of 'cloud power' at their conference I suspect its in response to what Microsoft is offering. They will definitely be behind in this field as they don't have the same resources MS has server wise, but the link explains how we do not have the necessary infrastructure to make 'cloud power' have a drastic impact (graphics wise). It does have great potential, but that will probably not be realized for decades. Instead it will most likely be used for things like Drivatar.

  • In all respects though, both are solid systems, and both will have solid games. I don't understand why people don't just accept the fact that we're gamers because we play games. I'm excited for the PS4 and One

Agreed everyone will be happy with their purchase. The DRM and Kinect on Xbox bother me. I recognize that doesn't affect everyone though. I like the Xbox brand. Have played on one since 2002, but feel the PS4 is for me this time around. Its all a matter of preference though.

  • Exactly! The only thing that irks me is that people like to be the "voice of the minority" and demonize what really (to me at least) appear to be inconveniences. Yes the policies do come off as shady, but at the end of the day we buy consoles for the games they play. I'd like to, over the long run, experience both to their fullest.

why don't you go out and buy a $200,000 sports car since it has better specs than what you are driving, getting sick of all the better specs comments when people don't understand what specs mean or do

The reason your metaphor does not work is the PS4, while being more powerful, is the cheaper console. Check my reply to SoapyBarracuda for spec difference. I understand what I'm talking about. If you prefer the Xbox that's fine. I have no problem with that, but the two consoles are not the same graphics wise. (though on multiplats you probably won't be able to tell the difference.)

  • Sony confirmed that there will be DRM, but it's up to the publishers to decide how to implement it.

That's the same as PS3 and Xbox 360. Example: Destiny is always online. The console it self will not have DRM. Unlike Xbox One.

  • Haven't taken the time to. I'd call it more of a Microsoft exclusive then.
