I like the Campaign. I felt that due to it being more serious and including characters that aren't cardboard cut-outs (ie Master Chief), that it felt like a meaningful campaign. It didn't bullshit itself except for some few times (which I will admit could have been executed better) unlike some other Halo campaigns *cough cough* Halo 2 *cough cough*. The ending gave me feels, and it made me cry, unlike the other Halo campaigns. I'm not necessarily fond of the multiplayer, however. I do like the idea of Infinity Slayer, but I felt that it was executed poorly. The gametypes were bland, and the maps were mediocre. The big maps had too little going on, and the small maps had too much going on. The PO was piss poor, as well. I felt that it could have been better overall. Now, on to Spartan Ops. I did not necessarily like it until the 2nd half of Season One, that's when things got interesting and the script and events got better. I also was amazed by the ending (I'd never would have thought to blow up Requiem.), and felt that it fit well within the Season. Overall, Halo 4 is not a bad game, and it's a good game in general, but it has so much wasted potential. However, I do think 343i still has the potential to make Halo 5 much better, even if they haven't found it yet.

  • Thanks for the post. I respect your opinion, however I disagree when it comes to the campaign. I'm also surprised that Halo 4 was the first one you cried at. The ending to Halo 3 felt a lot sadder to me, but I digress. I also don't really understand what you mean by cardboard cut-outs, are you referring to them re-using characters?

Not really, I'm referring to them as having no personality, like Master Chief. In the books, he had more a human-like personality to him, he talked more, and had more emotion, whereas in Halo: CE-Halo 3, he was just a robot with one-liners. Now, that's not to say that all of them were as such, but you could see a handful of them being that way. And you're welcome, btw. It's always nice to have a civil discussion on things.
