WWII is a whole different ball game. We held our own against Fascist Germany for a year. We gave it its first defeat in the Battle of Britain. We partially crushed the Luftwaffe and stretched thin Germany's capabilities to launch into areas outside of its control. The North African theatre was relatively stable without the USA; British forces pushed the Afrika Corps back to Tunisia without the USA. You're arguing as if the USA was the keystone to Allied victory; that without the USA and only without the USA, victory would have been impossible. This is wrong. Without any of the big three (UK, USSR, USA), victory would have been impossible. Each power was just as much a keystone as the others were. They can pull their companies and investment out of the USA and economically cripple them. In areas of the debt with interest, the longer you leave it, the more you have to pay back. At the end of the day, like it or not, you still have a massive debt to China, which therefore means China has major sway in the American economy.
