In Ancient Egyptian mythology the stars and the planets were gods, the stars were fixed but the planets traveled, the word planet means" wander". If you look inside the logo for the faction Osiris, you will see the moon. The emblem on the should guard for the Fallen is the symbol for one of the four pillars of the Goddess Shu, in ancient Egypt. Bungie most definitely took their inspiration from ancient Egypt.

  • Interesting... Of course planets have been considered to be wanderers since the earliest times of astronomy.

  • The ancient Egyptians new the planets wandered, they charted their movement. I think your right about Khonsu, Bungie is using Egyptian mythology as inspiration and the traveller looks like a moon and a is referred to as the traveller, fits. Protection is a key element to Khonsu, and you can see how that would fit, now how does it play into the over all back story? Bungie is weaving mythology together and all of the parts will make up a whole story.
