I believe what they're talking about is PvP because it states two different packs meetin on the trail hence your pack, an a stranger their friends, so you never know what might happen

The section you quoted has my attention for other reasons: literally it reads as if confirming what we already know about Destiny. We [i]will[/i] be fighting enemies, and not just on Earth, and we [i]will[/i] be fighting alone, or with a fire team. I was reading today that the entire passage is believed to be Kipling's interpretation of a social contract between an individual and the community, so I wonder if the rest of the passage will in the future define other aspects (i.e. enemies) of Destiny.
