-blam!- you Bungie. You might have beef with Microsoft but without us fans you -blam!- would be nothing, but hey who gives a -blam!- just cater to whatever the -blam!- Sony has to offer! Immature -blam!-s. Edit: I feel obligated both morally and publicly to apologize for what I posted yesterday. There is no excuse for the vulgar statements I made directed toward Bungie and I am sorry. The bungie.net community is one I've been apart of for 7 years (officially 5), a third of my life. This is not a justification nor excuse, but a representation of just how much Bungie means to me and how big of a role they, their community, and their games have played in my life. With that being said, I shall leave the original comments unedited and disengage from any further conversation in this thread to prevent further derailing of any worthwhile discussion.

  • It'll all be ok come the release date. Bungie and Activision won't let their fans down on any platform. Keep the faith.

  • At this point, might as well go to Sony, Microsoft screwed up big time with the Xbox ONE. I know we'll see the games soon, but at this point, I'm glad they went with Sony. I might as well go with them as well if MS fails big time at E3

  • You literally went on a pointless rant about my pointless bungie rant with no goal in mind except to insult and judge. That comment was in the heat of the moment. I apologize for its language, tone, and in general content but it was said and at the very very least it represents just how much I care for Bungie and the community, one that I've been apart of for 7 years (officially, 5), a third of my life.

You're one of the most worthless human beings on this planet. I am serious. There is literally ZERO way in which this game being shown off at the Sony Press Conference affects your life in any way shape or form. You are talking about major companies in the same manner that a fifteen year old girl talks about her friends in junior high. You are the immature one. You are a moron. You do not belong here. Leave.

  • They haven't forgotten their fans at all. Bungie are making the game and ACTIVISION are publishing it. You are barking up the wrong tree! Besides, Bungie have every right to be angry with Microsoft but I'm sure they have better things to do than hold a grudge. Like a decade of making Destiny games... They set out to make a trilogy of fine art and entertainment called Halo and they did. They even gave the fans Halo: ODST and Halo: REACH, to help us understand the history behind their universe. Their Art was finished. Now Microsoft are defiling that art in order to keep making money out of it (Halo Wars, Halo 4 and at least two more sequels to come yet). And the day I saw an advertisement with the Master Chief next to a bottle of 'Mountain Dew' energy soda, I knew what Microsoft really thought about their precious Halo fans.

  • Halo wars was great dude. I was surprised I would enjoy an RTS game as much as I did. It was awesome to see all of the epic battles and watch as evac pelicans came and went. I also really enjoyed halo 4s multiplayer. The campaign was mehhh repetitive and dry but I enjoyed the cutscenes. My point is there is something special in every game and its different for each person. Halo reach is broken for me and I don't miss it at all. See people like different things and we need to respect that and what those people make as well.

  • I totally agree with everything that you say. It's not that I found no pleasure in the other Halo games. It's the way in which microsoft are using the halo franchise. I know that making profit is good business but could they milk it anymore?! The way Halo 3 ended was shocking but right. For me, the mysteries of the Halo universe was what helped to make the original trilogy so captivating and that mystery was kept by the way it ended. It's only because the campaign story was as important to me as the multiplayer that I have no interest in playing H4. Other than that, it's a great game.

  • Mmmhmmm I see what you mean. When I first say the halo 4 chief on the Mountain Dew and Doritos bag I was like awesome!!! More recognition. Now when I look at it in your context I see how wrong it is. I believe unlike ever non gamer that video games should be accepted as art. The campaign as immersive as a good book and the multiplayer, some thing the fans can enjoy and talk about the same way music brings us together. This is why the content of a game is important to my. Now when advertising gets out of hand things go bad. Halo 4 became something like the avengers. It was all over the place and them forgotten and replaced by the big companies and consumers. This is why Microsoft is loosing my respect. Xbox has become a marketing tool instead of a console on which to enjoy fantastic games.

  • That's the one positive thing about it all. Halo 4 was given the promotion it needed and probably introduced many people to the Halo series. I've come to expect this kind of exploitive advertising with food and drink products from blockbuster movies but not with an iconic sci-fi hero, like 'The Chief'. He doesn't eat Doritos. He eats the pins off frag grenades! The campaigns were, as you say, as immersing as good books. And forums like this one go to show the same as what you say about music bringing people together. I'm so glad that other people in the games community can see what is happening. I like all games consoles. I only wish that ALL the companies that made them would put the consumers interests and satisfaction before their own.

You're just as wrong in the other direction dude. Halo 4 was a great game, 343 is a great company (populated by several Bungie employees who wanted to stick with Halo) and no one is "defiling" anything. Stop claiming to understand the motivations of major game companies that you have no communication or standing with. You do not know "why" they made ODST and Reach. It's also pretty obvious that you don't understand what a marketing campaign is.

  • Halo 4 may be a great game to some but not for me. And certainly not to a lot of other true Halo fans. Don't believe me? Go surf the web. Yeah, I do know who took over. I've been playing Bungie games since 1994. I kind of notice little things like company changes to one of my favorite game series too. And I haven't said 343 aren't a great company! You're assuming to understand my feelings towards a reputable team of game designers, simply because I don't feel that H4 was anywhere near as good as what fans have come to expect from the Halo series. I'm more than happy to give my reasons but it won't change the way either of us feel about the direction of the franchise. I can already tell you have a bee in your bonnet. As for the marketing... What's to understand? It speaks loud and clear...-blam!- the campaign, lets concentrate on multiplayer because consumers have to pay-to-play. And to have the Master Chief look like he gets his snacks and drinks from Seven-Eleven?!... WTF?!. He's a Cyborg Soldier trying to save mankind, not a couch potato planning a movie night with Cortana! It's the same with nearly every game that's based on a Marvel or Disney film. Lets put a picture of the Hero on the front of the box and people will buy this crap for their kids to shut them up. Same with clothes, lunch-boxes, pencil cases etc etc. It's a disgusting approach to consumers and the motivation is greed! Halo has become a cash-cow. Anyway, you seem pretty certain that I'm wrong. You either have solid proof, media garbage or you yourself are falsely claiming to understand their motivations. Otherwise how else would you know that I'm wrong? Halo is more than a game. For a lot of people, it is art brought to life. And imo, the original Bungie team involved with Halo were, are and always will be the only ones that can truly bring that art to life. I'm sorry if that offends people but I'm not the only one that feels that way. I have a friend that was so gutted when he completed the H4 campaign, anyone would have thought a close relative of his had died! Great games shouldn't do that to people that were there at the beginning of Halo.

  • Thank you, Bryant. Admittedly though, I probably seem a bit preachy to some and deluded to others. But I know that there are plenty of people who feel the same as I do and some that feel even stronger about my point, than what I do. Anyway, Halo is over for many people. Destiny is what it's all about now. I look forward to seeing you all in-game.
