Destiny is an epic story about your own character. It seems to be open world, with a constantly changing environment. Character immersion would seem to be completely crucial, and that would mean creating one base character that is concrete throughout the game (except for armor durh). So should gender change operations be in a game such as Destiny?
-
I can see making small edits like getting a haircut, growing out a beard, or dyeing your hair, but I think body-type, facial features and gender should be set once you create your character.
-
Just like Fable 2's magical gender changing potion... Well as long as they make it canon... jk no ಠ_ಠ
-
Won't change my character or personality in game, any more. But adding new tattoos or change my haircut would be nice. Some biomechanical implants, those who boost the abilites of the character would be nice, too.
-
I don't see why that would be necessary, unless you're role-playing as a guardian with deep-seated and chaotic gender identity issues.
-
Just note that I voted yes by accident.
-
To me, that completely ruins Bungie's plan to deeply invest in your character. It is hard to call it an investment when you completely change your character's identity on a whim.
-
Nahh, I'd prefer it if you couldn't change. I can't see the guardians of earths last city doing dumb things like gender changing operations. You'd think they would have better things to do.
-
No.. once you choice your gender at the start that should be it, unless you create a new character and start over..if you can change your character on a whim you wouldn't have a connection to your character.
-
I say why not, but I think it should have some realistic consequences. For example, your clothes and armor you already have shouldn't fit, armor should be on a gender basis if gender changes are in the game.
-
But it will cost you each time you do ... no price point set yet, but suspect this may slow down the number of character changes - better off spending your spare points on weapons/armor.
-
No, but they can change their sex.
-
Yes, but they have to go to a cosmetic surgeon shop. There will be protesters that will follow you around after that and insult you.
-
it would be ludicrous to be able to change genders on a whim. you built the guy in the first place, make one that is built to last. Maybe little customizations like new hair or something, but a whole new gender? no, just..just no
-
No gender change on a whim.
-
No. But you can have multiple characters so you could always just make a new one.

Well umm im a girl (i hate saying that and no im not lesbian) and i really hope you can change gender c:
-
We need a Makeover Mage! *Nostalgia*
-
Yes and in real life too

I hit yes because I wanted to see the results. I really don't give a crap.
-
I don't get all the fuss about gender changing. I think if people want to, they should. Those who don't, they shouldn't be concerned with this. I mean it's an option.
-
Well, in the Halo games you could do this very easily, and as often as you want. I would say yes immediately (since it's simply a visual difference) if not for the fact that we won't be able to change race after creation.
-
No. There's a reason we can make more than one character.
-
Being able to go from male to female and back again over and over just seems silly. If you're not sure, just be a robot. Or do they have genders too?
-
YES, I hate when there is a cool girl character that I want to use, but I can't change the gender.
