NOTICE: This thread is not asking if there should be a gender change, it is asking about if there was one implemented by Bungie, should your personal armor adapt to your gender if you collected armor and then changed your gender soon after the fact. I do not support the "change your gender on a whim" thought and this thread is merely asking what if that happened, what do you think about the armor adaption to genders.
The question for the poll is:
Should Destiny's armor/accessories adapt to your gender if you are able to change it (if Bungie made it a choice)?
The genders of characters in a vast world like Destiny poses some issues that should be considered. If players could change their gender anytime what would happen to their armor/accessories that they had collected across the solar system? If they looted special armor after a battle would they have it in available to them in both genders? Would there be special equipment/armor for a specific gender?
The reason that is is an issue is that when they show a female Hunter (for example), said Hunter is obviously feminine and the female body armor fits perfectly to the feminine look. In Halo 3, you could change your gender but your Spartan looked exactly the same, whether male or female. In Halo 4, certain armor pieces adapted to your gender. On Xbox LIVE, for your avatar you buy either male or female clothes and the clothes don't adapt to your chosen gender.
I realize that Bungie will make the very best decision, but what does the community think? Thoughts?

I would like to point the OP to the Breast Thread Ever. Armor does need to compensate for different female body types. The similar spartan armor in Halo 3 is hard to explain, but can be by saying that these women were trained and engineered in a way to wear that bulky armor. Halo: Reach did make female armor. But outside of Halo, the armor needs to compensate for curves, etc. Women aren't just smaller versions of men. My specific concern about breasts can be read in the linked thread. But you don't need to over compensate and you shouldn't ignore female body types. Make it logical and don't sexualize armor for the sake of it. Armor CAN be customized to be feminine, but it doesn't have to be dangerous (see: concave breastplates) and it CAN still be functional.

I believe that if you find armor and your character is a male, the armor should adapt to being male armor. that being say the same goes if a female character finds armor that armor should be shifted to fit the figure of that female character. Just like any other game with male/female options of armor, such as Wow. the armor should adjust the the shape of the gender.
-
I think that picture sums up the extent of the gender differences.
-
If you mean armour adaptation in the way Reach does then yes. One size fits all, adapting to the anatomy of your character.
-
Gender won't be able to be changed on a whim, I don't think. That's rarely the case. But there should be an adjustment to a smaller frame, as women are (generally speaking) smaller than men. And, of course, no hyper-sexualized armor please. Women should be equipped to do combat like men, not to be sex objects. It's so damn creepy. I feel gross knowing that stuff exists.

my vote is for no gender change-- you can't change your gender once you pick it in the beginning.
-
To a reasonable amount I would say yes. In games of this type I just loathe when they take female armor to an obvious and gratuitous extreme that does not even make sense in the world "they" live in. I of course would like to be able to tell its female.
-
If they can do it without making it blandly unisex, and also avoid over sexing it for either gender (seriously, put some armor on those boobies).
-
Meh it works fine in wow to have the armor change to fit you.
-
Mass Effect pulled it off correctly, with the obvious exception of Miranda. Females didn't have skimpy armor, but they highlighted feminine features. It was over-sexualized (not hyper-sexual) and impractical, but it made it easy to distinguish males from females.
-
I don't think it makes sense to change your character's gender, unless you can't have more than one at a time.
-
I think you should be able to change your gender at any time.
-
I don't think you will have the choice to change gender on the fly.I think the only way to change gender would be a new character..
-
On reach there was some notable (ahem) changes between genders

I don't want to be able to switch our character's sex on a whim. I would rather once you make a character it is relatively set as that for the rest of the game. I would be okay if you could change minor things about them like hair and scars (if we can actually take off our helmets) but other than that I don't think that they will make that a feature like in Halo.
