  • I failed to buy tickets :( I would've actually been able to attend, too.

  • Mostly all great suggestion but you could probably do the opposite of each and still have a great time ;)

  • I would love to go to this! Apparently the tickets sold out the same day they went on sale. To date I've only ever been able to attend PAX East, but I've heard Prime is a much better time. Hope you all have fun.

  • Wear something that's easily identifiable from a distance if you want people to be able to spot you. Don't forget to get copies of ALL your credit card transaction receipts, there's been trouble with padded charges at a few places before. Keep an eye on your bank account for the month after PAX, we had one bad year where a lot of credit card numbers got used for fraudulent purposes from stolen data. Cash will occasionally, but not always, get you discounts at vendor booths. Don't be afraid to check out the Table Top & PC Freeplay rooms. You can meet great people, discover incredible games, and have a lot of fun in unlikely situations. Make the most out of your lines. Remember, everybody at PAX is going to share at least one thing in common: a love of gaming. Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation, because you could be in line for a long time (especially for panels or game demos). Enforcers are your friends. If they ask you to tighten up a line or move out of the doorway, please do it! They're not being dicks to you, they're just trying to make the situation safe and sane(ish) for everybody. If you get lost, or bored, or don't have a clue what to do next, ask an Enforcer and you'll probably always get a dozen different answers that are equally valid. Don't be afraid to take time to recharge. Being in huge crowds can be draining even to the most gregarious person, and there's nothing wrong with going for a walk to catch some food or drink or just plain fresh air. Food costs more the closer it is to the convention center. A six-eight block walk can save you sixteen bucks to sixty bucks depending on what you're after.

I still don't have a ticket. My offer to pretend to flirt with you for the duration of PAX still stands.

I'm not going this year. Avoid WPers if they have snake liquor. Avoid homeless guys that will give you names that aren't your names. Serious suggestion: Be choosy on what games you want to play. Lines can get really long and you don't want to waste time in line when you could be socializing and doing hoodrat stuff with your friends. (I see that a burnt orange shirt wearing loser already addressed this but I don't care. Also, don't let people who wear burnt orange into your hotel room). Seriously. Who goes to a video game convention to play video games? Not this guy. Also, tree vagina.

      • From my past experience, I found that I spent the most cash on food. The groups I rolled with went out to eat for every meal and we had a blast. If that isn't your speed, don't sweat it, but Seattle has some great cuisine and I know I'll likely be looking to get some grub at some nice locations. Also, make sure to check the weather forecast in Seattle before going. Last year it wound up being pretty comfortable, but being that it is right at the end of August it likely stands a chance of being a bit muggy and you know, it could rain.

          • Put ranch on your steak. Be sure you know where your things are at all times and bring a backpack for free swag.

          • 11. Don't spend too much of your time standing in lines to play the games. There's plenty of other stuff you can be doing that doesn't involve standing for 3-4 hours.
