why do people still listen to Hardcore...
When glorious Extreme Metal exists? Extreme metal being all of those smancy subgenres lilike death, black etc.

Because metal is so confusing with all it's silly sub-genres that they probably don't know what else is out there. Or, they're trying to be edgy and different, but they don't actually like intense music, and listen to the pussy emo nu-metal stuff out there today. Or maybe they just like it? Either way, Prog Metal > All.
