Random Appearing Ship Raids

I think it'd be cool to have random cabal, fallen, vex, etc. ships that would appear while we're out in space. When a player finds one of these ships he/she is presented with either raiding the ship or avoiding it entirely. The ships would range in size from the "Forward Unto Dawn" up to the bigger "Pillar of Autumn"-esque ships (2 halo ships). Heck, if bungie could go bigger why not put in ships the size of the "USG Ishimura" (Dead Space) To get a sort of feel on how these raids would go down, look to the halo reach mission "long night of solice" OR that one map from Starwars Battlefront 2 (the one where each team has a home base ship). The player(s) would first need to board the ships without getting hit by flak from the enemy ship's turrets. After docking, the player(s) could roam around the ship trying to find weapons, items, etc.

I'd just like to 'add' a couple of things to the discussion that maybe were meant but not voiced.

- Spider Pirates are likely to have differing ship schematics, as they could be an entirely fragmented civilization or the last remnant, therefore sporting a uniform fleet. - Cabal are also likely to have different schematics because they their society is possibly factional (also in a CQB boarding op they are likely to rip apart their own ship trying to defend it with those tank weapons they use as rifles). - Vex may not even allow Guardians inside a crippled/endangered vessel. Remember they're highly advanced robots so self-destruct isn't outside of a reasonable range of options for them. - Hive might be too dangerous to board, the whole vessel could be 'alive'. And from what we've seen via the early GDC moodboard of the five aliens, their spacefleet seems to be comprised of completely unique vessels. - Glimmer, based on our factual sources, will be riding flaming space clones of Pegasus, so good luck boarding those. Oh yeah, and those onyx pyramids which may or may not be theirs, they're fashioned from nanobots that either disperse or murderously suffocate trespassers in a horrifying scene that could be straight out of a book I shouldn't ruin.

There are a couple balancing roles here to species to play combat as well as in geometry creation. Boarding any one of these vessels could result in a different scenario some of which might be timed or suicidal in the case of the Vex and Hive. Some species may not even need (new) geometry created because it is (near) impossible to enter the ship (and leave alive). Space battle AI would change depending on how willing the enemy is to lose all it's ships for a victory. I'm all for this idea but I hope their are varying degrees of danger in space zoning, I'd rather not be running into them all the time. Maybe there could be an additional variable of whether you've cleared a nearby region/installation of enemies? Either the zone is now safe or there are additional patrols, perhaps?
