Summery: When a woman finds herslef trapped and alone on a faraway world, She seeks a means of escape, But will reailty cath up with her and mean her Death? find out. When Esi awoke it was to the gentle patter of rain against her helmet, Ash fell around her like snowflakes as the wreckage of two mighty vessels lay twisted and broken like wrestling behemoths in the distance, Try as she might, when she tried to stand, she found she was pinned to the ground by a part of the ship that had fallen in the crash, the memory's nagged at the back of her mind, fuzzy little bits of the moments leading up to the crash, but nothing before it. She pushed the heavy debris off of her legs and crawled backwards against the rocky gravel she lay in and collapsed on her back, panting. She shakily stood to her feet as her arms shook like noodles, her head spun and her throat burned cold, her heart pounded and pulsed in her chest as she stumbled forwards towards the crash but a strong gust of wind cuaght her and knocked her on her side causeing her to land hard on her helmet, There was a sick sound of splintering glass as webs appeared in the clear dome of her helmet, but still she got back up. And as she stood, she unknowingly had placed herslef into a gambit. A gambit against time, life. A gambit that would eventually leave her to salvation, or to death. This is the Tale of Esi. Picture space; It's big. You wont belive just how vastly, mind boggingly huge space really is. Picture a cloudy sphere somewhere in that vast, vast nothing, so far removed from all else that in the eye of humanity it does not exit, Has never existed. It is a microscopic, tiny speck on the blanket of space, It is the planet Elysium. Now, down on that planet, at6 the foot of a great mountain range where the winter storms bubble and boil sits a scar, the only remnants of the CSG Yevikgrad and it's eternal enemy, a offensive green and black craft of Eldridge orgin. Even smaller compared was the lone raven haired woman who was stumbling back to her feet, suddenly finding herself alone. Very very alone. Esi reached the crash of the Yevikgrad as the sun was setting, the winds picked up as the nightly storm crept in from the distance, but ti was clear that Yevikgrad would provide her with little shelter this night, she pressed and huddled against the wreck as she shivered and chattered in the cold, out in the distance the fires were still burning, but at last, the rain of wreckage had stopped. She activated her helmets light, but found she could not bring up the computer system, it had been damaged when she fell, Suddenly the memorys hit her, a scream, blurred shapes as she tumbled through the air to a ground far far below, she snapped out of it, breathing heavily. She should have been dead, but she was not. Why was she was fortunate? Morning came to the sound of a soft alarm beeping in her helmet, Low Oxygen - read a display that was projected into the dome, Esi groggily stood from her position against the crash and found herself coated in a very thick blanket of dust and gravel. She brushed herself off and stood, and thats when she saw them. during the night the storm had shifted bits of the wreck, and now three bodies were visible to her, one stood upright in an odd postion, looking over the other two. a survivor? Esis heart lept, She broke into a run ignoreing the warning her suit was now angreally buzzing at her about, "Hello?!" she shouted, "I'm over here!" she waved her arms, The standing figure did not oblige her with a reply. As she came closer, she looked at the fiure who had his back turned to Esi, he wore the same colors, the same uniform she wore, she he was still. unaturally so, It appeared that he was leaning against a metal conduit, looking into the sky as she approached/ "Hello?" She asked softly as she drew close, but still he did not move, the other two seemed to be very dead on her observation, thier helmets smashed, faces bloated and dark purple. "What are you doing?" She asked, but as she rounded the front of the man she almost swallowed her tounge. The mans face was curled into a frozen sneer, metal conduit jutted through his helmet into his eye and out the front of his leg from where it had impaled him clean through, Esi wretched and lurched as she saw the horrific sight, she had to turn away to stop from vomiting, but no sooner was she looking away from the corpse did the warning for air crop up again, She had a few minutes at most, She panted hysterically as she looked desperately around, Nothing for miles and miles except wreakage and alien landscape. She took sevreal deep breaths and though fo a quick plan, She steeled her wits and fortified her mind and turned back towards the grotesque looking body, She approched him slowly, surely his oxygen module was not depleted, she hoped- and she found that is was not. "I am sorry." she said to the body and disengaged his oxygen source from his side. Esi took several big breaths and then held it as she then disconnected her own and tossed it to the side, with the new one in hand, she struggled to install it in place of her old one, try as hard as she did, it wouldn't connect. her cheeks started to turn blue as she slumped to her knees and frantically pounded the cylinder against her suits connection port, Each time it connected the suit failed to read it, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she slumped over, little speckles of light filled her vision as the world went dark and Esi went somewhere far, far away. • "Wake up. Are you alive?"... Esi's eyes blinked open to the sound of a voice through her communcator, She coughed, her head felt heavy. The voice spoke again, "Glad to see you awake at last, In your haste you did not confirm the new air tank." Esi felt groggy, the world blurred and shapes shifted as she sat up, "Who is this?" she asked while she looked around, unable to make anything out clearly. "You've been out for some hours, I feared you dead." came the voice once more, "My name is Kerrigan." Esi blinked hard, things slowly started to come into focus, "Where are you?" she asked, but she saw no liveing humans around her. "I'm not that far off, but I've been injured from the crash. I will need your assitance." said Kerrigan. Esi got to her feet once more and breathed in deeply, her back hurt from haveing been laying on her backpack. Her senses picked up something...diffrent with the air she breathed now. she glanced around but only saw the bodies and the wreckage, she spoke into her communcator, "Point me in your direction if you will." The voice came back, sounding pleased. "With pleasure! But I admit in my state I am not able to do so, But I am not very far from you. I shall do something to draw your attention." Esi looked around for a moument before a sound of clattering rocks reached her helmet, "Do that again!" she spoke, Some more rocks fell, Esi watched the rolling stones as the bounced and jumbled down a hill not far off, "I see it, Hang on!" she exclaimed. Esi quickly jogged over to the rocky grey hill and looked around again, From behind a boulder a few meters up some she saw a pair of boots sticking out. Kerrigan again spoke, "It seems I'm out of rocks." Esi watched the boots kick fruitlessly, only shifting around the gravel below them, She walked up the hill, "I found yo-" She stopped mid word, for what she saw took her mind a moument to work with, Laying infront of her on it's back was indeed a body, but it had no head, It's arm was crushed and a milky fluid streamed from the wound, "What the hell is this?" she said before spotting a head gazeing at her from beside the boulder. She jumped, startled. "Hello." said the head, "Kerrigan?" Esi asked, "In the flesh!" he replied, a smirk forming across his strong, chisled chin and blond hair. "I dont understand, how is this possible?" she asked, Kerrigans eyes rolled, "What? I'm feeling light headed. I'm ahead of myslef, What do you think it is woman? Do you not remeber me at all?" Esi shook her head, "I must have landed alot harder then I thought." she snarkly commented, Kerrigan blinked. "I'm an android, and today most regretfully, is my birthday. I do recall you promiseing to spend the occasion with me, I shoudl be so fortunate." Esi stooped over the head, "I dont remeber anything, but if it means anything, happy birthday." Kerrigan smiled, "I regret to inform you however, that it seems I am quite damged, obviously. and if your memorys have indeed gone down with the ship, then you'll need me, Need my help." Esi picked the head up, yellow and red materials streamed out of the open neck hole, "Can you fit back onto your body?" she asked, Kerrigan said no. "I'm afraid that level of repairtion is beyond our current abilitys, but body or not, I'm still functioning..I think." he said, Esi furrowed her brow, "You think?" she asked, "Well, I'm being generous of course. I no longer have a body anymore as you no doubt have noticed." Esi noticed that as he spoke the severed body was moveing too, makeing gestures as he talked. Kerrigans eyes followed hers and he grumbled, "Force of habit, Ignore it. For now we have pressing matters, such as securing you a viable souce of oxygen, It would be a shame to have sit here for all eternity while you rotted away because you needed a breath." Esi blinked, it was indeed an unsettling thought. "Right. We should get on that."
