With Destiny being a shared world shooter, how are millions of players going to buy real estate?

Who said you'd need to buy? While it's going to be a shared world experience, i doubt it will be [i]that[/i] shared. We wouldn't be able to walk 10 feet without bumping into another player. Maybe clans will be able to fight over planets >:)

What I'm saying is, if you can "conquer" a place/planet, what happens when someone else has that place conquered, and you share a world with them? With millions of players, being able to 'conquer' a limited amount of areas, how would that work? If someone who has control of an area can be randomly matchmade with anyone else who may or may not hold the same area, how would that work? What I'm saying is, if this game doesn't have dedicated servers, which it doesn't seem it does, but is based around the same sort of matchmaking Halo had, you can't 'control' an area. You can't fight other players for the same area. Besides.. we are all on the same side. The other planets are enemy controlled.
