So at GDC we were introduced to some of the races and classes in Destiny. What caught my eye heavily was the Hive race. I was pretty impressed with the way they were designed. Sort of like a cyborg zombie race with a large appliance of a Hierarchy system. As of the character reveal trailer at GDC we were briefly shown flickers of what's speculated to be a Hive Queen due to the feminine appearance of it I remembered seeing this character before, infact- this image which shows our three playable classes raiding a Hive Tomb Colony, you can see two distinctly similar looking members of our speculated Hive Queen, along with Hive drones. Perhaps they are not Queens, but infact a more type of heavier class, such as Soldier-type class, with no discrimination between male or female. In my main image at the top, there's also a certain Hive character shrouded in red with an interesting head piece. To me it appears to be a type of Shaman. There's also several types of normal Hive characters, in both the concept art and in the GDC trailer. In the main image, the hive in the right foreground is very basic. Let's call these types Husks. We also have slightly more armored members with split-open helmets. For now I'll call them Ectoderms, based on the outer layer of protective casing. The last two noticeable Hive types in this image includes multi-armed Hive type, along with a heavy handed type with a spiked head. The final and most obvious type we've seen is the triple-eyed Hive creature. It was the first creature seen on the GDC video and appears to be the most common. So for now, I'll dub these types as Grunts. So, with that breakdown, what do you have to say about this race? I'd love to read your ideas and thoughts about The Hive.
