It's the GoTY one to. Anyway the first couple of screens work right. Which is the agreement screen, information screen and the start copying files screen. Then once it gets to the "Installing Morrowind" box nothing happens. I left it alone for 5 minutes then came back and it's still at 0. What's strange is the the first time I installed it it worked fine. Then after that I deleted it. When I check to see if it has any remaining files in the system it doesn't. So what's causing the problem?

Oh God. I remember this game. Best 500+ hours of my gaming experience.

i had no problem installing it on my windows 8 pc. Did you get a specific error code?

If you are mounting with daemon tools run morrowind.iso (autoplay) as administrator and in windows 7 or xp compatibility mode, then install bloodmoon and tribunal ISO files in that order. Also try getting a fresh download of GOTY, or perhaps just try original morrowind but you definitely want to use a disc emulating program to install it. Not even suggesting you illegally download it as it only costs $5 but i always have problems with steam-winodws 8- and old software together

That's what you get for using windows 8

Its a shit game anyway that hasn't aged well at all. I'd just get Oblivion then get the Morroblivion mod.
-
good luck I never liked Windows 8. I find it ironic windows 8 has so many game issues yet it was made for it lol
-
Physical disk or off of Steam? Make sure you run it in XP compatibility mode.

That game sucks anyway. People talk about how Sonic Adventure hasn't aged well but -blam!- me. Morrowind feels ancient in comparison.
-
I think I know why it's doing that. I still have files that are in system. Once I'm able to I'm going to delete the rest and see what happens afterward.

Such is the issue with using an OS a game was not designed for.

I bought the GOTY Edition off of Steam, and it runs fine on Windows 8 for me. When I first loaded it up, it crashed, but with some minor tweaks I got it fixed rather quickly. Is your copy on a disk or is it downloaded?

1. Right click 2. Properties 3. Compatibility 4. "run this program in compatibility mode for" 5. Select Windows 7 ???? x. Profit
