Don't get me wrong, I sympathise with the guy up on the stage and those like him. But like everything else its a balancing act. A balancing act between narcissism and self-loathing. People need to be able to take on constructive criticism and be able to recognise worth.

Everything you've said so far is completely subjective. Constructive criticism? Good cause to be egotistical? You've stated your opinion and I've read it. That's pretty much all I have to say.

I should have added that a healthy sense of self-worth is in no way to be looked down upon, as opposed to egotism. As for subjectivity and opinions, those terms seem to be internet shorthand for 'I refuse to see the sense in what you're saying', at least half the time, when it's not something like music or art being discussed.
