I am replying to this topic because it expresses an understanding of the value inherent to the new system.
And, because I wanted you to get a notification.

Sometimes I wonder how many notifications you get...or are you on here so often that they don't pile up?
-
Too bad people with windows phones can't even get notifications, as the app isn't on that store.
-
The app on iOS and Android will notify you if you have your settings in your profile set up to do so.

But I have a Windows Phone (Samsung Focus S), and the Bungie Mobile app doesn't exist on WP. It would be nice if it was on all 3 main types of smartphones.

Edited by Domi 233: 3/3/2013 5:07:12 AMIf the Bungie app becomes an important part of the Destiny experience, I'd hope to see it on Windows phone so that I don't have to: a) Buy a phone from one of my least favourite companies (apple/google) b) Miss out I don't have a smart phone at the moment, but I'd be enclined to get a MS one if the Bungie/Destiny app makes an appearance on that platform. Perhaps the Bungie/Destiny app will have no function that isn't possible on Bungie.net (that's fine then). Perhaps the Bungie app and Destiny app are going to be different things. But I wouldn't like to miss out on vital/important features, simply because I don't have an apple/google smart phone.

While I'm not bashing, the numbers show that the Windows phone is in no way a "main" type of smart phone. Ever.

Out of all smartphones, Windows Phone is in third in terms of US market share, and if I remember correctly, Blackberry was 4th. That still excludes at least some portion of the community though.
-
Windows phone may be third, but they only make up 2.5% of the market at most. Is it really worth Bungie's time to develop an app for 20 people?
-
It has been increasing, and it is at 4% at the moment. Sure, it may not be much compared to Google's 48% and Apple's 45%, but doesn't mean that there isn't a substantial number of people who own them. With MS starting to target businesses means that it should have a boost to its market share soon. Either way, it would be nice for an app to be available on the the phone that also is more integrated into a console than others.

Y u no app?

Take over the world will you...

But there is a browser

That's all fine and good if Bungie.net provides the same service as the app. But if not, it's pretty much a case of "go buy an apple/google smartphone if you want to fully enjoy the game".
