Should split screen be in destiny and should there be guest availability and do you think bungie will put this in?

  • Of course there should be its not like it could cause any problems

  • I wouldn't be surprised if they implemented split-screen. It seems like a perfect game for it.

  • There's never split screen in enough games these days, co-op play or otherwise. I would love to see it in Destiny.

  • I completely agree with having split screen with two caveats. You are limited to 2 player split screen (not 4- how would that work with fire teams?) and your +1 shouldn't be a guest but another profile account. Aka to play on xboxone id have a family plan with my son and I logged into our own accounts. This would completely void the "how to deal with guests issue". Also since the gameplay including number of enemy AI present at one time is a fixed across all 4 platforms, I'd expect the new gen consoles at the very least to be able to handle split screen especially if it is running at 30fps. This would also make lag a non issue for most since a 2 man Fireteam wouldn't have to peer to peer with anyone and a 3 man Fireteam would peer to peer with just 1 person. A 6 man squad of all split screeners would just have to connect 3 boxes instead of 6.

  • Yes to split screen! I have 3 little brothers who all play video games. The oldest one and I split-screen every cooperative game we have and we're really looking forward to playing Destiny together. Split screen is a must!

    • Maybe but that means only 1 more spot is open for fire teams

    • I really don't see why some people are saying no. Seriously, just because it is online and a rpg doesn't mean it can't be split-screen. If Bungie are aiming this game to be played with friends then split-screen should be definite.

    • I don't see why not besides technical issues. As a matter of preference it's just something that would be nice for those who'd like it, and obsolete to those who wouldn't.

    • Will the consoles be able to handle splitscreen without a drastic drop in graphics quality?

      • I'd really like to see split screen. Too many games are coming out now that require you play with someone somewhere else rather than your friends in your own living room.

Split screen yes, I'd like to play with a fireteam buddy on the same TV if they happen to be over, or get friends into the game by playing co-op first so they'd get a feel for it before buying a copy of their own. Guests wouldn't be able to save or progress their characters though so likely a no on that one.

        • I think they should definitely have split screen. It doesn't have to be the main game though, it could just be a 1v1 battle between u and ur friend, or it could be like firefight and u fight waves of enemies

        • I would say no guest log in but allow split screen with an separate account. Thats what I would do if I were Bungie, and maybe if there is an arena competitive mode let guests log on to play.

        • I don't think it will... Sorry console sharing gamers, but since this is an online focused shooter, with rpg elements, history is telling us no. It could still...but I'm thinking no

          • I hope beyond hope that they have split screen. I guess I just took it for granted it would be split screen since it was such a big selling point for halo 1 and 2. My girlfriend is actually excited about this game, but unless split screen makes the cut, we may not be able to play together. :(

          • My wife and I play co-op games right now, but we don't have multiple copies of games or multiple consoles. Now, I'm not saying that it wouldn't be nice to have multiple consoles and multiple copies of Destiny to play on them, but not at the beginning. One of those new consoles is going to be something like half a paycheck, so yeah, getting two would be feasible, but not practical (again, at the beginning). So, when Destiny is launched, I'd love to have an option for my wife and I to play together on a local split screen with two different accounts (XBL or PSN, dependent upon which console we choose to go with), simply for convenience's sake. Then, later on down the line, purchase a second console and a second copy of the game so we can both play fullscreen co-op.

            • There probably won't be split screen. Since the game isn't contained to a very local environment, odds are it won't be.
