I think it would be nice to see split screen in Destiny since I have a fiance and I really don't want to have to buy a second game for us to play online with her. Couch co-op on a split screen just makes things more fun since you won't need microphones to speak to each other you could just be there having a good time with each other. Sure the screen gets smaller to compensate for two people to play but is that really a problem?
-
It would be very helpful for people like myself and my brother cause we both want to play this and it would awesome cause then i wouldn't have to buy a whole new console just to play a few games together.
-
I would love to see splitscreen that would be great for when you have a friend you roll with via online over you both can still jam out... Though i doubt splitscreen will make its way in, Mainly because of performance issues, but im sure if bungie finds that the next gen can handle it they will, Maybe have an adaptive setting to slightly turn down graphics to compensate for the power splitscreen will take. who know. Does not seem the next gen is really splitscreen fancy, but i suppose we never know. maybe if enough people say they want it Bungie will find there way to work it in

Split Screen would be great, it would be great in any game! The problem is though is that it would be hard because it causes the game to be force to load more at once on one consul. So the problem isn't money or time, it is the matter of how much the consul could take. With all the details put into the game, I highly doubt it.

I really doubt split screen will make it in.

Edited by Kazhooulte: 4/25/2014 7:17:41 PMThere should not be any guest account.. because with a guess account, it makes a clone of your character, ex: Kazhooulte and Kazhooulte(2). I'm not sure how the mechanics of Destiny world would be to this situation, when this clone gets items would the main character "Kazhooulte" keep those also, which would disrupt balance making someone get things more than they should.. or would the guest character "Kazhooulte(2)" lose everything once he logs off?.. these answers are best left unknown, so I say no guest availability. I personally will not use split screen.. I usually hate having to share a screen as it scales everything to look smaller and I need to see my surroundings at full potential. But I think they should add it for people that want to play with there siblings, friends or significant other while sitting next to each other.. and I'm sure they will. Even playing Halo, the best fun I have had was playing split screen co-op with 2 friends, we always bet who ever got the most kills would get the top screen (which was the biggest) since the bottom half was split in two.. ah good times :)

Yes there should!!

Heck yea! I always have the most fun playing couch co-op/splitscreen with my little brother. It's a lot better when we play together than when the other guy just gets to watch, albeit funny commentary may follow. Bungie knows it is so much better when one can play with their friends instead of watching their friends play, vying for the remote.
-
They should make it 360 and the One connect to play so more people can team up and play.
-
It would be like having a split-screen skyrim, where the guest would have to start over everytime they log on with no gear
-
Edited by baconman9559: 4/11/2014 5:20:19 PMI think the split-screen option will be available for some parts of the game, but they would put it in as you log on to your gamer tag, like they have for black ops 2 split screen. It would be a nice edition for the game but might not be suited for the rpg/mmo/fps genre of Destiny.

I don't want split-screen for an entirely online co-op multiplayer game. It just wouldn't feel right, seeing as how we can't really have 'guest guardians' since we have to put a great deal of time and effort into our characters.
-
I think there might be a spit screen but not guest
-
No. In a traditional FPS game you add a friend who can "guest" and they just create-a-class and roll into a match alongside you. But with Destiny...what happens to the weapons and ammo he looted from mobs during the hour or so of gameplay? Do they disappear on him leaving? Do they go to his friend the main account holder? Can he even loot weapons? And what about manipulations? I'm low on ammo in the middle of a zone so I have my GF log-in as a guest, pass me all of her ammunition and then log-out...yay! I have full ammo and can carry on rolling through the map. Or what if she gives me her low-level starter weapons to sell for a few in-game currency...what if I do this a few hundred times stacking currency until I can buy all the uber-gear I want? Personally I think we should stick to it being a single-player game with online multiplayer and co-op. If your friend want's to play then perhaps a refer-a-friend scheme through Bungie.net?

im fairly certain that there will be split screen, due to the popularity of it. as long as the profiles are local to the system, i dont see any reason that the data for each character wouldn't be saved. i would assume that the split screen would work something like Borderlands, anything you get online would be saved to you're personal profile, locally, on you're particular system.
-
Definitely think there should be a split screen

Only person in my house who likes playing video games so usually I do sibgle

Edited by Toothy: 3/25/2014 7:24:13 PMI'm all for split screen for those that have to share with a brother or sister, but I still prefer playing full screen. If given a poll I would definitely vote pro-split screen, just to clarify. p.s. This would be so much easier as a poll.
-
Destiny is an online only game and therefore can't be played offline. If a guest were to join, none of their progress would be saved. Since Destiny is an open world FPS RPG that relies heavily on the players game saves, playing as a guest wouldn't work. Every time they sign out all of their loot would disappear and their level would be reset, while the main player would continue leveling up and getting loot. So every time the guest came back he would have to start over while the other player is stronger and has even better gear than last time, eventually making the guest completely useless. The only feasible way for split-screen to work is for a second person to sign in with their own XB-LIVE/PSN account so that their progress would be saved.

Edited by Moo Man: 3/23/2014 11:17:01 PMI think that there will be and I hope so to. Split screen in Destiny (Halo always had co-op and multiplayer split screen)
-
Edited by Mantenner: 3/3/2014 7:21:33 AMYeh I think there should be split screen. Too little games have split screen nowadays, when a mate comes over, I pull out my ps4 to play with them, console are meant to be social. My only split screen game on ps4, is cod ghosts. I want to play this with friends, or my dad or my sister on the same tv. That would be awesome AND in true bungee fashion
Those who judge, do not have wisdom, those who judge, have an opinion

-
I believe that they will have co-op and like what a lot of you said they will probably have you sign in with your PSN or XBLA account. Or maybe you could also have a guest and whatever they get in their loot it will go to you.
-
If there is, it will probably be limited to the story line stuff and open world stuff i guess
-
I hope so. I've introduced so many of my friends to a new game just by playing with them in Co-Op. It's just the way I like playing video games.
