Black Lagoon
so it's an anime from madhouse animation(they do good work) released by geneon and licensed by funimation in NA. made in 2006.
it is the story of a guy who is kidnapped by modern day pirates and joins them...there are 24 episodes and you can get it as a dvd/bluray combo pack....
anyways i just watched it and it seems too be one of the best Anime series i've ever seen[opinion]. a decent story that was too short(2 seasons of 12 episodes each), dat action and emotion blending, dat gunplay, dat attention to detail...
can anyone recommend any similar to this?

I watched the first 5 episodes or so and enjoyed what I saw. I haven't got around to finishing it yet though. I'd highly recommend Darker Than Black and Cowboy Bebop.

2 RepliesI really wouldn't say it is one of the best anime shows out there since in the end the story is lacking, but other than that the show is great. As for recommendations it really depends on what you are looking for.

The way it used a varied cast of characters and kept the action going was very nice. I think you would enjoy series such as: Cowboy Bebop Samurai Champloo Hellsing Ultimate Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin (or the lack thereof) Ergo Proxy Gantz Ghost in the Shell Gungrave Monster (for your mention of attention to detail) Neon Genesis Evangelion Trinity Blood A couple of these mentioned series are staples, but Black Lagoon is in my opinion a little unique. It caters more to a western audience so I've listed some that also do that (though they are different in many other ways). The rest either have emotion, detail, some gunplay, and action.
