I am conflicted with my religion (not a flame war)

Like many people, I used to be Catholic, eventually converted to an agnostic. I feel conflicted, I believe in something but I don't know what, I don't feel comfortable being an atheist or agnostic, and I don't feel like being a Catholic. I feel conflicted, I feel anxious, what do you people recommend, what should be my next steps?

 • Catholicism tends to lose people as they go through their teenage years because of its rigid tradition. On top of that, it's the same age when people start really questioning what they believe in and why. From a Christian perspective, they do a lot of un-Biblical things and I don't recommend continuing going to a catholic church. I was raised Catholic and went through the same experience you seem to be going through; I was agnostic for a while (it's hard to lose the guilt/paranoia Catholicism drills into you), but joined a Protestant church and got into Apologetics and really got back into religion. I recommend you ask your friends for a recommended protestant church, and I think you'll enjoy it more. Join their youth group if they've got one. Overall it's a much better experience for growing spiritually and you'll actually learn about the faith, rather than what you experience at catholic mass.
