People who are good at computers unite!

No seriously though, I need to know what's the best/fastest ethernet cable available. I'm not too concerned about price, but the cord has to be no less than 50ft. I've looked around and found lots of cables, but I want to make sure I'm buying the newest one. Thanks guys! EDIT: Also I might need a splitter for the cord (I'm routing the cord into the basement and up to my room where I would like it to split so it goes both to my computer and to my Xbox). So if there is anything I need to keep in mind for buying that, please let me know.

  • Just don't get ripped off by buying a "premium cable" because that's a bunch of crap. For splitters, the power strip I have actually has one built in. Haven't used it yet, but it's a cool little extra.

  • Just get something that is Cat6. There is no such thing as a "faster ethernet" cable. What connection speed are you going to have at each end of this 50ft cable?
