Is the tablet more similar to the desktop OS or the mobile OS? The reason I ask is that canonical says this:

but then they write the mobile OS in QML, which is absent from ubuntu's desktop OS.

Ubuntu is pretty heavy by linux standards, but it is light compared to windows or osx. And they talk about creating a sort of "synthesis" between desktop/mobile/whatever that runs some form of ubuntu, which concerns people because their actions speak to the opposite: the mobile os is entirely different from the desktop os.
