I'm a Naval Sea Cadet in the U.S. It's 'kay, summer trainings are the best. I'll occasionally give powerpoints about China, Terrorism, or the Iranian Navy during our drill weekends.

  • Nope. I've been in for three years and I'm still a Seaman. In reality, I'm a rare breed. Most either leave after a year or two or make it to Petty Officer and stay in until they age out. Though, I'll hopefully make it to Petty Officer next month. The only reason I want to be promoted is so I can teach more classes (because I'm half decent at it, so cadets generally don't fall asleep) and put it on my ROTC application. Don't be apathetic like me, I could be a, E-5 or E-6 right now if it weren't for my laziness.
