With the style and grace that only an angry mob can provide, the internet comes to the rescue of someone who doesn't need it. Stay classy, internet!

Wait... why did the article black out the daughter's last name but leave the father's and write it in the article as well?

Edited by Omega Travis: 2/8/2013 8:06:04 PM$200 dollars is a bit over kill for a 14 year old girl who only has to stay off a single website for a few months. I can live my life without Facebook. why can't she? Why doesn't the father just encourage her or discipline her until she uses the site less?
-
I'd delete my fb any day for $200. Barely use it anyway. Although I have written quite a bit of things on my fb and posted them up in the notes section, and taking them down would be a total bitch.
-
I would never have made that deal. I would have simply pulled the plug on her ability to use anything that she could access FB on until the grades improved. Actually, I already do this, but it's XBL that gets pulled. Pay a kid to do the only job they have...... ridiculous.
-
Conning your parents for money to deactivate a Facebook account? Not sure if I am for or against this.
-
... I'd absolutely love it if I was offered $200 to disable my Facebook account for four months. I'd do that in a heartbeat.
-
That dad sounds like an idiot and his daughter sounds like the dime a dozen no brain bitch's that get everything handed to them by their parents.
-
$200? I'd take that deal too.

Edited by halo: 2/8/2013 5:44:52 PMShe's an honor student but it's distracting? Crazy ass parents putting ridiculous rules on their children for no reason. My dad used to ground me just because I played video games too much, even though I was an honor student and never brought home C's, brought home academic awards through high school, and I'm willing to bet 1000 bucks she doesn't spend NEARLY as much time on Facebook as I did playing Halo. With her grades, she obviously puts her schoolwork first, she's not going to drop out of school for it talking on Facebook. Parents are always doubting the judgement and intelligence of their kids. You can tell this girl is smart because she got 200 bucks out of it, Facebook obviously isn't that important or that distracting for her that she can be so easily swayed for money. Back in grade school, I never would have agreed to give up Xbox for that amount of money for 5 months.

First time hearing about it. Wonder why people cared so much in the first place.
-
Well at least he's teaching her about contracts and how things are done in the real world.
-
I like this idea. Sometimes, the internet just needs to chill out.
-
"...but if I don't impose my concept of how everything in the world should behave and what's acceptable parenting (despite the fact that I myself am not a parent nor privy to the context-sensitive personal relationship between this father and daughter), who will!?"
-
Wait, so on whose side is the Internet on?
-
Just think of all the stuff she could buy!
-
Edited by Twisted Love: 2/8/2013 5:45:44 PMProbably just random kids with nothing else to do.
-
I actually think it's a good idea. It's probably so her Facebook activity doesn't interfere with school...
-
just makes me feel weary
-
Huge fuss? First I've heard of it.

Edited by Symmetry: 2/8/2013 5:19:14 PMAre you kidding? That cake shop in Oregon is getting negative reviews on yelp, and the reviews have nothing to do with the food. So much for being "adults."

"stuff" Lol-d.
