If anybody in here honestly believes that they could kill an experienced gladiator, a professional fighter, then they are insane. Gladiators spend all their time training and fighting for their life. Its part of their career. Think of it as going into a cage match with a professional MMA fighter. You're not going to last long.
If i had to choose though, id go with option 1. I have range with the trident, the net to slow him down, and im lightly armored, so im able to move faster.

That was my dilemma while choosing. I knew either way, I'd wind up dead. What I chose to use, did not make any effect on the outcome.
